Re: Matsui GB - Order Thread

Josh, does your per chip price include shipping and/or other fees? If not, we'll need those numbers to see what our total cost will be. Thanks.

Re: Matsui GB - Order Thread

Those prices do not include shipping or any other fees. I was going to give people the option of choosing their shipping carrier, and have them pay for actual shipping & materials when I receive the shipment. At that time, I can package the chips, weigh them, and get a precise shipping quote for each order.

Does this work for everyone?

Also, be thinking of what you would like to do to help compensate J5 for the design work.

Re: Matsui GB - Order Thread

Those chip prices are just estimates at this point correct? I know for example that we have about 2000 chips estimated for the $25 denom which would make it's price about $1.05.

Also: What is the minimum order size for the plaques? 100? Is there an artwork charge on the plaques too?

I don't know if Josh will end up using this but I created a spreadsheet that he can use to track orders.

It tracks how many chips we're still missing and it will update the prices automatically as the volume goes up.

Anyone can view but only Josh can edit it, so you still need to email him your order.

That pricing is directly from Jinny at Matsui. Unless people are completely opposed to it, I would like to keep the pricing as is even if we go over 1000 on a few of the denoms. The extra money will help us put together something nice for J5, and maybe help me out a little as well.

Is everyone okay with that? If not, I would completely understand.

Also, the minimum order for plaques is 100.

Re: Matsui GB - Order Thread

Well I'm completely opposed to it. If we need to raise funds to make up the difference in price, we'll deal with it when it happens. I thought we agreed to keep ordering open until the minimums are met - and from the polls it looks like only the .25 and 1000 could be a little short. If we keep ordering open for long enough, I'm sure we'll get VERY close and we can get everyone to chip in for some extras to get us over the line.

For example if we're 300 short on the $1000 chips, we could get everyone ordering $1000s to order a few more so that we're at the 1000 chip minimum.

I'm not going to agree up front to pay extra until we know how much we're short. If you want to make some money out of this, say so. I'll donate you some money or chips for your effort. But don't build it into the price - if you do that this is no longer a group buy.

Whoa, calm done bud. He never said he was trying to make money and he even asked if the pricing was ok with everybody. Why dont you chill out a bit with your accusations.

I am not building anything into the price! I am just asking to keep the price what it is, and use the little bit that will be left over to get some chips for J5 and maybe some for me as well. I have put a bunch of time and effort into this, and it would be nice to get a little something in return.
As I said, if people are completely opposed, then no big deal. I know that similar things have been done on other GB's so I was just hoping we could do the same. Sorry if I am offending anyone, or seeming greedy. That is not my intention.

Re: Matsui GB - Order Thread

I didn't want to be rude, so I apologise if it sounded like that.

I'm just surprised at this idea because I thought we had a plan for meeting the minimums without building a buffer into the prices upfront.

And I've always said that I'd be happy to pay for some chips for you and J5's effort.
