A poll from OTB about the Bellagio Tribute chips.

Hello all,

As we continue to work on this design and get prepared for the GB to kick off, I have to ask a question to the potential purchasers.

Would you be willing to pay one extra penny per chip (once prices are firmly established based on quantities) so that I can (as the acting Art Director) have a set from this order?

Normally I'd jump on this buy, especially for the price, but it took all my my resources to get the wife to agree to an $1,100 order from ASM for our custom cash set. I can't even ask her at this point about buying another set when we have not even been billed by ASM for those chips yet.

There is NO WAY I would ever need more than 2000 chips of this set, so if this "skim" goes over the cost of a 2000 piece chip set, (I can certainly pay for my own postage) then maybe everyone's shipping could go down a buck or two with any extra? I figure that if we hit 50K in chips, one penny per chip is about $500 in chip credit, or about 1500 chips, which would be awesome.

Thoughts? Or is this out of line?

I don't think this is out of line, but I would like others who have organized group buys to comment.

My only concern would be for the guy who "started" the idea for this buy, doesnt this sort of suck for him?

That and also, what have we done in the past in GBs?
Has anyone made profit from one?
I mean after all getting these ~1500 chips for free is techincally making a $500 profit...

so is this still a GB?

OTB you can have 100 chips from me for running the group buy. You should get something. I don't know exactly how to go about it, but I would certainly approve.

Another good point, I voted no. Sorry, but I just dont like the precedence it may start.

Marduk I think his name was...And what about Nugzy who is distributing...and Joe who is making this happen as the importer...

What is the precedent in GB prior?
