This is what Boston did for the WSOP GB.

Re: A poll from OTB about the Bellagio Tribute chips.

If "OnTheButton" created the design for the Bellagio Tribute chips I really think he deserves a set. I do think it's wrong if people are making a profit and don't offer him atleast a small set as compensation for designing their product. Maybe if the retailer would give him 1000 chips, people involved in the GB would be willing to sponsor another 1000? That would only be a fraction of a penny per chip depending on the size of the GB.

OTB didnt creat the design, he simply tweaked it. Marduk created it and to be honest its a direct ripoff from the Bellagio chip so its not like it was some be creative idea out on no where.

Re: A poll from OTB about the Bellagio Tribute chips.

I have seen many members of chiptalk lend a hand to people with artwork - even up to and including "camera ready" for the manufacturer. I htink the compensation issue has been somewhat guarded. But, I know some of these guys have been compensated - and rightly so! Graphic design and the job "graphic artist" is an esteemed field. The learning curve and skillset for this is actually beyond many people's capabilities. I only muddle in it myself - after a lifetime of drawing and taking art classes and learning photoshop (and all this when I've been told I'm "gifted" for this) I still barely have a workable skill - besides which I actually lack the expertise to develop "camera ready" artwork, or use Illustrator. I can look at somebody else's work. Then say, oh this is good about it - or oh that's not good. But, I'm far from being a competent commercial artist. The fact is, the finer elements of creativity/composition, and the practical application of producing correct formats in correct applications still eludes me. (probably not by far, but...)

So, YES! emphatically! OTB should be compensated - and persons who feel he should not -should be ashamed of themselves. Maybe it should be by donation. But, really why not add a penny? Your buying his work after all?

He didnt even come up with the original artwork, if OTB gets free chips so should Marduk. Hell, nugzy should too because he is going to handle the GB. Dont tell me I should be ashamed of myself because I have a different opinion then you. I have the right to my opinion just as much as you do.

Rightly so, that's what I meant - they should get something for putting the buy together. It needn't be much, just SOMETHING.

On the other hand - if you feel YOU should be getting something for nothing - then it's not "my opinion" that you should be ashamed of yourself - it would (in that case) simply be a fact.

What is this about? Who said they wanted something for nothing?

Re: A poll from OTB about the Bellagio Tribute chips.

I'm new to this "group buy" thing, and maybe I just don't know what's involved, but a half a penny per chip, or a penny per two chips, sounds more reasonable to me. I think the organizer(s) should receive something to reflect our appreciation, but I'm just being honest that that was my initial feeling about the matter.
