Smile Possible ASM WSOP replicas

Hi Everyone. I'm new here but in my short time, I've grown very fascinated (borderline obsessive) with the world of poker chips. One of the first threads I came across was for the group buy of WSOP replicas by BostonPokerChips. They used Chipco as their manufacturer and the mockups looked amazing. However, I recently discovered that with ceramic chips, the graphics on the egde will not align with the graphics on the face, making these very beautiful chips lose much of their appeal.

I was very dissapointed when I learned this because I was ready to purchase a set of those replicas but now that I know this little fact about ceramics, I'm certain that I will not be able to get it out of my mind. I will always be looking at the rolled edges and saying to myself that they are not aligned.

With that being said, I'd like to know if there is any interest in creating a group buy for a WSOP replica chip from another manufacturer. Ideally we would go with Bud Jones since they are the authentic suppliers for the WSOP chips but I believe that BJ doesn't cater to the home market, they only sell to casinos (please someone correct me if I'm wrong).

I then had the idea to create a WSOP design but with a clay chip. I know that the graphics on the edge will not be anywhere near the same as the real Bud Jones WSOP chips but I'm quite certain that we can make a kick ass chip that has a very nice WSOP feel to it. On top of that, the chips will be clay which I believe that most people on this site prefer anyways. I'd be interested to know how many people would be in for this type of group buy. Depending on the number of responses, I will try to get pricing from ASM regarding large quantity orders.

If anyone wants to suggest another manufacturer here please feel free to do so since all opinions are welcomed. This is simply to get the ball rolling on this project and to guage the interest level for it. Hopefully people will be excited by this prospect and we can get into action soon.

I look forward to hearing from all interested parties.

John

Re: Possible ASM WSOP replicas

Here is a cross post to another thread with what (i think) are my final colors and pretty close to my final inlays. I welcome thoughts and comments, although, I get the distinct feeling I may be the only one watching this thread.

Re: Possible ASM WSOP replicas

Green -- 25
Pink -- I am using as 50
Black - 100
Silver - 500
Yellow - 1000
Red - I am going to put a spade and use as 5 or 5000 depending on the situation.

My plan is to use them in cash games (100 = $1.00) and tourney's (face value)

Thanks Dudlee. I REALLY wanted to get a group by going on this, but it just didn't look like it was going to happen so I shifted gears when ASM came out with their edge spot offers.

Re: Possible ASM WSOP replicas

For some reason I sawthe mock-ups of the WSOP styles after the 2005 series that was done by Fizzy Wizzy and yourself, the of course the ASM spot sale came out seemed to flounder this and then we seem to be starting over again.

I will wait and see what happens here

Just to being closure to this.... I have been spending alot of time with Dave from Blue Chip about making those Binions replicas. It was very difficult to say the least... at the end of the day we couldn't use "Horseshoe" on the chip, could not use "V" spots (BCC does not make them any more) and to boot, they wouldn't even let us use the same colors.

So I think that a ceramic would be the only way to go to get those Binion NCV replicas made.
