Breaking Bad Season 4

wow. just wow. that was so much better than i'd imagined it would or could be. i have always loved the show, but that premier gives me so much confidence in vince gilligan i don't know what to say. truly phenomenal performances from literally everyone in the episode. so glad there absolutely no pandering to anyone. the only negative thing i can say about it is that it raises my expectations for the season almost unreasonably high. can't wait to see where it goes.

Re: Breaking Bad Season 4

This is one of those shows that I think I need to catch up on. I watched about 10 minutes of an episode (no idea which one) on youtube and it looked like good TV.

Is this a final season for the show?

Re: Breaking Bad Season 4

the showrunner - gilligan mentioned in an interview that he had it sketched out and it had a definite end point, but i don't think it's this season. maybe one or two more. you absolutely must not pick it up right now. the development of these characters is just perfect. it has gone from pretty amusing to surreal to omg wtf serious territory for me with each actor bringing more of their game as the series moves along. first season is only 7 episodes. just watch that and you won't be able to stop.

Re: Breaking Bad Season 4

I love the show. It has inspired me so much that I have started my own meth lab. It amazes me that a show about such a problem is such a hit. You definitely want to start with season 1. Weeds is another good show. I really enjoyed the first 4 seasons. Not sure where it is heading lately though. Meth and weed are both common problems where I live along with prescription drug abuse, and its not that glamorous and usually involves sores and missing teeth. I never thought drugs would be this bad living in rural America.

Re: Breaking Bad Season 4

I am glad to see your review. Only 3 moths before I can start watching. If anyone says anything at a game, I'll be really bummed. I will watch them all in a single weekend at the end of the season.

This is my favorite show of all time.

The character arcs for both of the main characters has been fantastic, and I can't wait to start season 4 (in 3 months).

Best show ever. I feel like we're on a journey with Walt during his evolution the past 3 years and I don't think he could have predicted where he is now.

Re: Breaking Bad Season 4

glad to see the show has some fans here. i'll keep mum at the games, rob, so that you get the full experience of the season when you watch in its entirety. suffice it say that, looking back on the last 3 seasons and where they've been willing to go the last half of last season and this first episode, i have a lot of respect for the producers. they have trusted the audience to make some serious emotional transitions with these characters. frankly it's better than i believed any television show could be.

@JeromyinWV i think what i've found so compelling about the show is that it's been totally honest about the realities of the drug business. it might have seemed like it glossed over some of the problems inherent in that life in earlier episodes, but given the route we've taken to get here, it seems as if the writers were guiding us toward the slow realization of the grimness of the occupation in the same way a square might gradually recognize those same realities if he were having walt's experience. there's still occasionally some levity and humor, but the tenor of the show allows the darkness to show through in a realistic way, imo.

Re: Breaking Bad Season 4

just watched ep 2. omg omg omg this show is the bomb. aaron paul is completely crushing and i loved where they went with the walt/mike dynamic. i don't know what awards they give for television that mean anything anymore (lol emmys), but aaron paul definitely wins the "jbutler almost turned gay for you because you are the nuts at acting" statue (which, incidentally, is pretty phallic ldo). can this show get better? no. can they throw it off a cliff? prob, but i don't think they will. i wish i was saul. he's def my career role model.

Amazing show. One of my favorites of all time. I watched the whole series on Blu-Ray and now I have to wait every week for an episode and it's so nerve racking. I can't wait for the show to be on every week.

Other shows like Breaking Bad that are worth your time...
The Killing
Walking Dead
Sons of Anarchy

Thumbs up Re: Breaking Bad Season 4

Well, I broke down tonight and got me a hit of that Heisenberg meth. Tight! TIGHT!!!

Watched the first 2 eps of season 4 and I am really digging it. This remains my favorite show of all time. The closing moments of episode 2 were amazing. I love the Jesse character arc even more than Walt's. I think he really broke out somewhere in the middle of season 2 for me, and it just keeps getting better. Aaron Paul deserves the JButler turns gay award for nut acting for sure.
