Could use some advice on camcorders

I am looking to get a camcorder (not-HD) for my mom for Christmas. This is just for casual use; no crazy editing, movie-making, or anything like that. What would be the best option to go regarding media storage (i.e., hard drive, flash drive, memory card, mini-DVD, etc.)? Also, any opinions on a particular model that won't break the bank?

I just ordered this one for the same purposes:

Canon CAFS200S FS200 Flash Memory Camcorder

Canon CAFS200S

It's cheaper ($249) but has no built-in memory. Gets good reviews for image quality.

go flash memory for sure, stick with the name brands, canon is good
