| Nevada jacks + UPS + Canada = $$$$! So I cashed in some PS0 points into NJ GC's at 10%0ff to take advantage of their $149 +"free shipping" sale on 500pc DS sets. I asked for the "old style" chip, so they had to be custom made.
I live in Canada, and I have been following the tracking on UPS website for a week, and what surprised me was a line that read "27/08/2008 11:10 THE RECEIVER HAS AGREED TO ACCEPT THE DELIVERY CHARGES "
I never agreed to squat!
Then yesterday, I was at work, and I get a voicemail from the UPS driver, saying that he is there, and that he will be back tomorrow, and that I owe just over $60!!
I lost it! I checked the UPS site, found out that customs should be about 30 bux, not too bad. Then I read on and find out about UPS' customs brokerage service, and how that costs $23, a service I never agreed to.
I then did some googling and found out there have been a few lawsuits against UPS for the same thing (not being authorized to be a customs agent etc.)
What also gets me is that NJ refuses to ship USPS which turns out will save me some cash.
Just thought I'd rant and get it off my chest. $60 for free chips, sheesh!
