Besides "Sippin' Bacardi", what else does the CT community imbibe?

I personally prefer Mount Gay rum myself...

Re: Potable Posts

When it come to Scotch, I am definitely a huge fan of the Islay malts. Caol Ila in particular. I love how they have subtle notes and flavours of "the sea". Anyone who drinks them knows what I'm talking about.
Even though there are some purists and aficionados who say flavours are excentuated by mixing scotch with water, I always drink it neat. Question is, what water are you mixing with? Certainly not tap or bottled water. What would be the point in introducing impurities that change the flavour of the final product? Distilled water I would assume would be best.

Ditto!

For Longdrinks i prefer cuba libre ( mixed with Havana Club) or GinTonic (mixed with Bombay Saphire).

Re: Potable Posts

Gin & Tonic is definitely my favourite summertime drink of choice. With a twist of lemon and a sprig of mint, very refreshing.

Re: Potable Posts

Scotch, bourbon, wine and beer mostly.

I sometimes make pitchers of margaritas when hosting to go with the dinner menu since they're a favorite of the gang, but really don't like to have sticky drinks like that during the poker play.

Re: Potable Posts

I can't really do the Islays. Something about the phenols that turns me off. I don't know why. I am a fan of The Balvenie though (Doublewood as the "everyday" and the portwood as my "special occasion").

I do love a good microbrew or homebrew! I haven't homebrewed in a while and feel a little guilty about it.

One of my uncle's margaritas always soothe. Two you feel pretty good. Three you're mostly gone. Four, you'll be hating life in the morning. The problem is they are so good and so easy to drink that by the time you hit four, you don't realize it till it's WAY too late.
