My 'stimulus' is going to amount to the proverbial drop in the bucket. The only saving grace for me is that my mother who lives on a fixed income is getting a check. I guess it just depends on the economy where you live.

I never have understood why people who choose to have kids get such huge tax benefits for it? Think about it, we all have to pay taxes that pay for the schools they go to, even if we don't have them so shouldn't WE be the ones getting the rebate here?? Talk about taxation without representation!

I didn't ask for $2100 - but I'll take it.

Talk about taxation without representation! | Those kids will be paying for you when you get old, whether they be yours or someone else's. If people don't **** out kids, where will you get future taxpayers and workers? I'm just thankful that my new job didn't kill me from getting the check, had I started earlier in the year...I'd be gettig less. The stimulus isn't much, but it's paying for my SCS2 trip...so I get to tool on CT'ers in Vegas onthe gov'ts bill.

Joking aside, I'm assuming you went through private schools your entire life on your parents tab. If you did that, then I can sympathize with your sense of entitlement.
If you itemized all government spending, education would be the last place I'd start complaining about. |

Talk about taxation without representation! | The extra $300 that little Maggie brings in is a pittance compared to the overhead of raising her. The $300 equates to a couple months of diapers.
I agree about the schooling issue. I went to a private school, and in 1985 the tuition for a year equalled a semester's tuition at the UW. I had to pay half of it with the parents paying the other half, yet we had to subsidize the neighbor's dirt-bag at the public schools.
[/soapbox]
Our $1500 will be deposited this week, and comes just in time to pay the $2000 due for Packer tickets.
