I can't say I'm all that surprised by this. But to riot after just the first round? Even Vancouver fans held off until the finals in 94 before losing their cool.
Too bad a handful of idiots had to go and spoil what should have been a joyous day for Canadian hockey.

Well, the one on the left has them for playing and coaching/GM... I'd just love to see Guy get one as a coach. He's one of my biggest man crushes.

I wasn't in Edmonton during their run in 2006 (they decided to start winning while I was in New Zealand), but from what I heard Whyte Avenue had a few problems once they started winning.
I think we will get a good idea of what would have happened in Montreal tonight. The Flamers are going to lose and I am sure the Dead (Red) mile will have some of Calgary's best inbreds out in force causing problems. ABC (Anybody But Calgary) is the rule I live by.

this is disgusting why the hell would you start a riot after your club wins?! It's time to be happy not destructive. I still hope calgary and montreal go to the finals, that would be sweet...I don't think bettman would enjoy that though  |
