Are these the Jordan's you were talking about? They are Air Jordan 6's

I had the same pair but just gave them away, they were way too old, the soles were coming off.

No. Well, maybe. Very similar style. I remember the bottom looked a lot like that, and they had those plastic loops on the back and puffy parts on the sides... but the uppers themselves (like, the majority of the shoe) were maroon. And suede (like actual fuzzy cow skin). Very little white.

*EDIT* Just did a quick google image search. Didn't find them in the first 30 (!!) pages. Wow there's a lot of styles!! Is there a site that would have all of them since their inception? If so, give me the link and I'll tell you which ones I had.

OK, just found Wikipedia's "Air Jordans" library. Mine would have been around the year of the Jordan VI... (got 'em in 1990, maybe for Christmas?) but weren't any of the colours they list. They didn't look anything like the V or VII, so they must have been the VI. But the colours were more like this:

But in this style:

They also had a pocket that covered the laces, that you could tuck your laces into. None of these show that. I didn't even tie my laces. The shoes came with two of those spring-loaded things (had the Jordan logo on them) and I just slid those down my laces, then tucked the laces in the pocket.

*EDIT* A friend of mine had these:

And his were exactly the same as mine except for the colours... so definitely VI's. Still can't find my colours, though.

Re: My Sneaker Collection

Oh god.. I have at least 1 pair of jordans for every year. Usually, I have 3 or 4 colorways of each year. All in all, I have 54 pair of Air Jordans. Im sick.. I have a jumpman tattoo for crying out loud... I will post some pics when I take some. Anyway, the jordans you are inquirying about above were The Air Jordan VIs that came out in 1991. The White/Maroon combo wasnt released until early summer if I remember correctly. I have the black ones, the white/navy retros and the white/maroon that you are asking about. The black ones with the glow in dark tongues with the lace toggle you have in your first pics are the Jordan Vs, released in Feb. 1990. I have those in White/red, Black/black and White/Purple. That is one of my favorites, The V in black/black. I also like the III in white/true blue, and the VII in the Olympic colorway. Anyway, didnt mean to thread jack but I couldnt resist. I love jordans. The new XXIIIs in black come out this saturday.. Im getting 2 pair. Oh btw, Im a 34 year old fat white guy. what the hell is wrong with me?

Re: My Sneaker Collection

This brings me back to the late 80's early 90's when the sneaker boom hit. At the time I had 20 odd pairs of sneakers, from MJ's to Bo Jacksons, the Reebok pumps ($200). Hated Adidas then but had the shell toes in the mid 80's. Collected baseball caps (have about 30 N.C. baby blue hats to go along with my MLB New Era collection). Worked in a sneaker clothing store so I got great deals.

Comfort wise, I would have to say the Nike Bo Jacksons (Air Trainer Max 91).

Could run in these up to 5 miles, play hoop and workout hard and it seemed to be the perfect sneaker at that time.

Now I'm into high end running shoes. I can't spend less than $100 for a pair of sneakers or I feel I'm getting something cheap.

Cool. Would you mind posting a pic of those? Just so I can say "yep, that's them" and take another walk down memory lane? Thanks.

I know what you mean, I have these shoes on my mind for a long time, but are put aside due to the whole casino chip thing:

I think the bo jackson's trainers you are talking about are selling again. They Retroed them last year..

Re: My Sneaker Collection

Here's a quick photo of my regular rotation.

24 pairs in my bookcase for easy access. (Top row is cut off from the photo).

I have most of the others in boxes under the bed, in the closet and even stacked in the corner of the kitchen. With the exception of a choice few of those, I don't really wear them much. Most of them are beat up from over the years and I didn't take care of them like I do now.
