Your thoughts would be appreciated

Last night I was in an accident.

Myself in a car, and a motorcycle.

I don't want to give details out. I'm fine, my fiancee (passenger) is fine.

The motorcycle driver was moving and talking and coherent, but looked to be in rough shape with a nasty cut on his head and not sure what else. No helmet. I also can't find out a thing about him, other than the hospital he is at the the area he is in.

I'm still freaked out and not feeling right, and it's almost been a full 24 hours. My first accident of any form or any sort of traffic violation, so that doesn't help the nerves.

Your thoughts for the motorcycle driver's full recovery would be appreciated.

Wow. Not to diminish what you're going through, but I was on the highway yesterday and watched a woman lose control and flip her car through two lanes of traffic and land in the ditch not 200 feet in front of me. So I know what you're going through. She (and her two year old son) were okay (cuts and bruises) but you had better believe how lucky she was that it wan't worse and that my wife & I were there to call 911.

Lucky for your motorcycle driver that he seemed okay, despite not wearing a helmet.

Accidents are truly horrific things - it all seems to happen in slow motion and there's very little you can do once they've been set in motion. Try your best to think about the positives - he's going to be okay - and the two of you are okay. Ease back into driving - but don't take a break from it. Get right back on the horse. I've had one accident (12 years ago) involving myself & a pole. I didn't want to drive ever again after it - but my mom forced me to, and I honestly think that it's the best thing.

My thoughts are with you and the driver.

Re: Your thoughts would be appreciated

I can sympathize with this from many different views- one as a bike rider and a stupid one who doesnt wear a helmet- another as a former Medic who has picked up enough of injured bikers-so many I cant remember em all- the bottom line is- accidents happen- its human nature- the more people the more motor vehicles the more accidents will happen.

It sucks when youre at fault- makes you that much more a carefull driver in the future- but this will and does happen- it takes time to get over- but you will- and so will the biker---

Not sure what words to offer you on this one other then be concerned- be careful- and when the time is right move on with life-

Life is full of unexpected events--we all learn to work through them in our own way.

You will also

It is good to hear that you and your fiancee are fine even though I can imagen that you are still sort of chocked and are feeling very sad about the accident.

You have my thoughts and so does the motorcycle driver.

Re: Your thoughts would be appreciated

My only thought is......Thats why they call it an accident. You didnt mean to have the accident or hurt the motorcycle rider. Even if the accident is your fault.....it is just that.....an accident.

I was in a really bad accident when i was 16 and the crash hurt my girlfriend pretty bad. I still have some guilt over it, but i didnt mean to hurt her. It was an accident..............

Just remember that you didnt mean for it to hppen and it was not intentional.

Hope all involved get to feeling better soon!!
