Wife and I are planning to hit Foxwoods on Monday (Memorial Day). I'll most likely be playing the 5/10 Omaha hi/lo with a full kill. If that's not running probably hopping into a 1/2 NL game.

Anyone else heading up?

Also, what's the deal with the Foxwoods Reward Kiosks? Last time I recall, they make it cumbersome for you to go through it to obtain everything. There's tons of menus, and oftentimes you wind up clicking on stuff you're not even eligible for.

I guess you could argue they made it this way to discourage people from obtaining the special offers, but it would be so much simpler to just present a user with the offers they're eligible for, which then gets them off the kiosk and back to spending money at the casino quicker. Foxwoods Marketing, Y U NO?

My group wants to start a recurring cash game that is mostly for fun and doesn't risk too much money (we don't want to lose more than about $40 in a night). We tried limit, but the lack of "all-in" made it kind of dull. We're thinking about a pot-limit game with a $10 buy-in. What are good blinds for this? .05/.10? We would allow a $10 rebuy anytime someone goes bust, but should we allow an add-on if someone gets low on funds? If someone gets a very large pile of chips, should there be a max, to keep them from rolling over the other players? If so, would they just pocket those chips, removing them from play?
I've seen some people state that they have cash games with blinds of .25/.25 - what is the idea behind having the small blind be the same amount as the big blind?
Thanks for any advice!

A transformation playing card (sometimes referred to as a transformation deck when assembled into a complete set) is a type of playing card where an artist incorporates the pips of the non-face cards into an artistic design. In a classical transformation playing card, the pips retain their standard position and coloration on the card. In some variations, the pips may be different in size, location or color. There is some debate as to whether these cards, often referred to as semi-transformed, should be considered true transformation playing cards.

Well to start this post the best way I know how poker chips are awesome!

Now to my question how to deal with a loss
As a note this is not a looking for sympathy post more of an outlet and somewhere to share experience.

I am old enough to know that sometimes it is best to be short and the pain be over and this is probably the case here but that doesn't seem to comfort at this point. About five years ago I lost my grandfather who was 80 plus and had beat colon and lung cancer and lived ten years to secum to cancer of the throat. He was like a father to me (as mine left when I was young. Since then we have reunited) and I came to terms with his passing easily.
About a year ago I found out my mother had cancer in her stomach and that it was terminal but they thought it could be prolonged and possibly stop it from spreading. At one point they had shrunk the tumers. She went into the hospital to get a few tests done and because her electrolights were out of wack a bit one week later she seemed to be feeling incredibly better and was talking about going home and that they were going to do a test in the morn and if it was ok back home. I got a phone call the next day the doctor called a family meeting and told us that her kidneys had failed and her liver was about to stop. Two days later she passed in her sleep at the age of 57.
So I'm not to sure weather it is the fact I thought she was going home and was getting a bit better. I have spent a good part of the last two months trying to come to terms with this but can't seem to I have tryed everything I can think of besides more time
So again I ask how have you come to terms

Thanks

The scene: $.25/.50 NLH, about 2 hours or so in. Action has been steady but not crazy - "normal" so to speak. Relevant characters to this hand are:

SB - brand new player to the game. In the short amount of time he has been here he has shown himself to be rather loose, rather aggressive, (neither to an insane degree though,) and rather random. Hero has not been able to nail down a rhyme or reason to his game yet, most likely because there is none. He is gregarious and entertaining, and from statements made it is obvious that he has a lot of money, and not a lot of poker savvy. He currently has $40 on an $80 buy in.

UTG+1, in contrast, is a VERY well-known quantity. He is quite loose/passive preflop and loves to get in there with very speculative hands, but becomes much more TAG-ish postflop. He understands basic to intermediate poker concepts and is capable of making good moves and good laydowns, but sometimes makes calls that he knows are not 100% optimal because he likes to gamble. Tends to be a little too sticky with draws, and a little too tight/bluffable with made hands. He currently has about $100 on a $40 buy-in.

CO (Hero) also has about $100 on a $40 buy-in. Hero has had a couple of draws come in in opportune spots, including a hand a while ago where Hero double-barreled with an OESD and hit it against SB's unlikely turned set. As a result, SB has made it known that he is gunning for Hero. :)

Action: 7-handed. UTG folds. UTG+1 limps. Folds to CO (Hero) who raises to $3 with K:heart:8:heart:. SB and UTG+1 call, everyone else folds. $9.50 in the pot to the flop.

Flop comes down T:heart:9:heart:6:heart:. SB bets $5. UTG+1 calls. Hero?

Playing 1-2 live, seven handed. Its later in the session, though hours before we give up for the night. The session is a little more aggressive and oddly less volatile given the action players at the table.

Cast of characters:

Hero is UTG with $325 on a $200 buy-in. Hero isn't playing many hands tonight but when he raises, he gets callers. At one point Hero raises to $31 sitting UTG and gets four callers. Hero has been selectively abusing this by making bigger raises with better hands. {BAD BAD habit to learn. I wouldn't do this for very long, someone will notice. But so far everyone is calling the bigger raises.}

The remaining six players are four LAGish players, a passive calling station and a semiloose TAG want-to-be. More specifics if the hand progresses. Two big ~$1,000 stacks (LAG and semiTAG) and one shorter $200 stack held by our Crazy LAGtard. Other stacks are $300 to $500.

The hand:

Hero is first to act and looks down at A:diamond: J:club:.

Keeping in mind that it is seven handed and somewhat deep stacked, what is Hero's action? What plans does Hero have for the hand, if he doesn't fold.

Oh brother, here we are again -=- DrStrange

PS Hero's raising ranges have been as little as $6 as much as $31 mostly in the $10 to $15 range.
