I'm curious to know if there is an easy way to find out what offers/discounts are still valid in the sponsor's marketplace? I can go to a chiproom offer from a month or so ago and put 10 items in my cart but at checkout it turns out only 3 of them are still available (and some items that are available I would only want if I could also get some other items that weren't available).

I can go to individual websites but then there is no discount so I was just wondering if it's all trial and error or if there is something I am missing that has all available offers to chiptalk members? Thanks!

I bought 500 of these on ebay last night for $130, does anyone know anything about them? The other side just has 'CBC' stamped on it. From what I can gather theyre from a place that was called the Cahto Bingo Casino in Laytonville , CA that was only open from 96-97, and is now called the Red Fox Casino. I figured $130 for any paulsons cant be too bad a deal, no? I like the idea of having a rack of unique $10 chips to. 31 cents a chip when you factor in the shipping. anyone know anything more about these?

Heres an idea for the powers to be and site members:

why dont chiptalk.net allow rotation of the FRONT page of the site for sponsors on a monthly basis rather then keeping the same mundane page month after month

The sponsors pay alot of money to be here-why not feature them on page one?

Ok... I've read the articles, I've read the posts. I've used the chip calculator. The links for CaptainLego won't work. I've gone to homepokertourney.com, but I still can't figure it out, so please help!

I want to run a 30 person, 10k, tournament. Blinds start at 25/50 and increase every 15 mins. I need to know how many chips I'll need when it comes time to color up the 25's, 100's, and eventually the 500's.

My starting stacks will be as follows: 12 green (25), 7 black (100), 2 purple (500), 3 yellow (1000), and 1 grey (5000). So to start, I'll need 360 green, 210 black, 60 purple, 90 yellow, and 30 grey to start.

Blinds increase as follows:

25/50, 50/100, 75/150, 100/200, 150/300 (Chip up 25)
200/400, 300/600, 500/1000, 600/1200
800/1600, 1000/2000 (Chip up all 100s)
1500/3000, (chip up all 500s)
2000/4000, 3000/6000, 4000/8000, 5000/10,000

I can easily figure out the starting stacks, but I want to make sure I have enough black/purple, yellow, and grey to chip up at the appropriate time.

Here are the direct questions:

1. What is the minimum number of the black/purple/yellow/grey chips I need to run this tournament successfully?

2. Does the number change if I decide to add antes?

3. How about Rebuys? How many extra higher value chips should I buy if I decide to allow rebuts during the first level?

The homepokertourney link only says to add ~30 5k chips to cover color ups, but this doesn't seem to make sense especially if I need to chip up 100s and 500s at set points during the tournament.

Thanks!

JD

A respected member of this forum convinced me to tell my story, not to bash BCC, but as a heads up to others. I had not planned to post about this in a public forum, but I understand his point.

Many of you are familiar with my Lady Luck Club cash set from BCC on the MGK mold. Gorgeous chips, if I do say so myself. Although the chips are not perfect, I willingly overlooked the flaws because, on balance, I was thrilled with the final product.

In summer 2011, I ordered a companion tournament set using the same artwork as the original set except for the denominations, along with a nickel add-on for the cash set. Let me repeat, it was the same artwork. The very same artwork.

The Good: The new chips were beautiful (and yes, the white chips were all snow white). Absolutely stunning, especially the T25: 414818, TRK Light Turquoise base, BCC Gold outer spots, and Sherbert Green inner spots, a combo that I had been lusting for ever since I got my BCC/TRK color sample set.

The Bad: The inlays looked as if the artwork had been converted to a low res raster image (real low, like 50 dpi or something) and printed on a 20-year-old inket that was running out of ink. The images were pixilated, the black areas were grainy and full of stray colors, the "solid" areas had banding, and what should have been beautiful red denoms looked like a faded, grainy version of BCC gold. Around 50% of the chips had inlays that had been cut so far off center that part of the image had been cut off. Unbeknownst to me at the time, that was the second, improved run of inlays. I can only imagine what the first run looked like.

BCC never acknowledged the cause of the problem with the inlays, and I will not speculate on the cause in this thread.

The Ugly: BCC refused to remake the chips. The inlays didn't look that bad, they decided. I was being too picky, they claimed. They had already rerun the inlays once and weren't going to run them a third time, they stated flatly. Mike did offer to redo the chips with the worst miscut inlays, but I feared that I could easily end up with half a set with bad inlays and half a set with good inlays and declined his offer.

The Outcome: After considerable strained discussion/debate followed by weeks of silence, BCC sent me an RMA and I returned the chips for a refund. I'm out the mold rental fee, which is not an insignificant sum of money, but the outcome could have been much, much worse.

The Lingering Question: What did BCC do with the chips? Land fill? The dark closet of Lessons Learned?

Pics? Sorry, no. They're in a long forgotten corner of my computer's hard drive. I can't bear to post them on the interwebz. Please don't press me on this.

Considering placing an order with BCC? I won't try to dissuade you. BCC has made many spectacular sets of custom chips, and I'm delighted to own one of their successful sets. It's unfortunate that they don't consistently deliver the quality product that they're perfectly capable of producing, but it's even worse when they don't stand behind their work.

I don't have the best camera but I did what I could :)

13 hour day in the new casino was exhausting, but I absolutely love the place. I lived in Vegas for seven years and the Cleveland Horseshoe is my favorite of them all (could be that it's new, gimme some time to digest before I commit to that statement ;) ).

It's very well thought out with the exception of a tight spot or two where you have to squeeze through behind the tables on one side of a pit but they only had so much room to work with inside the old Higbee's department store (if you know "A Christmas Story", the casino is located in the building with the department store Santa... Football? What's a football???)

The poker room is beautiful and is on the 3rd floor basically all by itself. Makes Erie's Presque Isle look like the dump it is :)
I like the singles a lot, I'll make them part of a mixed cash set eventually and I love the snappers. I really have no use for them but I'm going to keep the rack of them anyways... too pretty to give back :) The rest of them are fairly blah though the 500s are nice (had one for a short while but forgot to snap a pic, oops!). Saw 1000s and 5000s in the rack but didn't get the chance to partake ;)

The roulette chips are slippery nasty things (like ALL of Presque Isle's chips if you've been there) but I felt I had to swipe a few... a- because I was up and b- because it's not allowed (such a rebel, I'll end up with 10 of each color just for the hell of it) :)

I have some Genuine Paulson poker chips from the Casino Aztar in Missouri. I also have 200 ASM Customer clay poker chips that I had made to match the Paulson set since those only went up to the $100 denomination. The custom chips are purple $500s and say Aztec Casino, which is as close to "Casino Aztar" as ASM could legally go.

I am going to sell these by the rack for the prices listed below. I will ship to any of the lower 48 via USPS Priority mail with Insurance - No international shipping, sorry. I accept paypal, money order or local pickup for cash. I live in the DFW, TX area.

Here is the breakdown of the chips and their denominations. I have tried to ask a fair price for these, based on what I bought for them and the availability of Paulson casino chips in this condition.

200 - $25 Green Paulson Casino Aztar Secondaries - Some are NEAR MINT, having been used only twice. $90 shipped per rack

100 - $100 Black Paulson Casino Aztar Primaries - These are in excellent USED condition. Many will stand on edge. I have cleaned them and oiled them so they are beautiful. $120 shipped See pics http://www.chiptalk.net/forum/poker-chip-gallery/61287-my-new-aztars-thanks-chiproom-pron-pron-pron.html
2) I need at least one $100 flip per day or I will turn to stone and forever adorn Jeff's basement.

3) I'd like to bet on some sort of sporting event that will be on during the tournament or ensuing cash game. $50 sounds appropriate.
When I go to order these, I'm getting the page not found screen. I was going to get some samples and see how they compared to the China Pharaohs and Desert Palms. Anyone know whether these are still on offer, and if not, where I might come across some?
