I already do and I love them. They add class and style to my games.

I have seen plaques on TV and in movies but never really thought about using them in my home games.
| | 8 | 11.43% | |
I would use them but all the denoms are too high. Who plays $25,000 chips in home games anyway?
| | 18 | 25.71% | |
I want to use them but haven't found a good source for ordering them.
| | 12 | 17.14% | |
I think they are too large and expensive but I like them.

I'll just stick to my circular chips. I ain't no fancy-schmancy Urr-O-Pean.

Same thing for a home game tournament set - plaques with ceramic chips or jetons only - 5000, 10000, 25000 denoms.

And to be direct, anything over a $25 chip/plaque in my game has to be unique and not something anyone can pick up online. Yes, I trust my friends, but one never knows and who knows if a friend of friend slips in a rouge plaque, sure I might only be out $100. It's not like the risk is super huge, but it is still there. I considered ceramic plaques but they didn't mesh well with my clay chips. I am still trying to decide between ceramic plaques and matsui style plaques. If you have the ability to customize plaques I would love to hear more.

Ask BCC: Why does it take 6-8 months when you promised 4-5 weeks? How come you didn't look at the chips before you sent them out? Why does it take 6+ months for BCC to make good on a bad order after waiting 6-8 months in the first place? |

I know home-game security is always an issue, and I haven't run any homegames with "outsiders" who would try to cheat but if and when I do, I would assume that the best policy is to establish the starting amount of money and make sure the number of chips/plaques used lines up perfectly. This way, if a $20 plaque or chip sneaks in to the game, someone will have to fess up to it. Of course, there is no way to know WHO slipped it in, but at least you know something is fishy.
I'd love to hear what best practices you experienced home gamers use for preventing this kind of fraud.
Thanks

I think the main thing is that most plaque prices are so high that plaques are really a luxury for the regular buyer that they aren't worth the price of 10 custom chips. However looking at the Matador or Dal Negro, those sets are very affordable but there just needs to be lower denoms cause otherwise your only appealing to the market that would use them for tournaments. Last I heard you were trying to get a 20 dollar denom into the mix hopefully that works out. |

Chips: 22 | | | Re: What is your personal stance on using Plaques in a US cash game? I have been interested in a $20 plaque. On the crazy nights when our cash game goes on and on it would be fun to throw some large plaques out there. Personally I like the plaques that are a little more flashy. I believe some nice one's were made for the PNY set. |

With all the factors there isn't any choice as of now. I would be sure to buy some if they come out with some. Quote:

The perfect plaque for me right now would be the Look and material of the Dal Negro plaques combined with the Size of the Matador line plaque and the price of somewhere in between both, with lower denoms. Man that would be sweet. I can only sit and dream for now I guess, but if you could make that a reality Bryan that would be amazing. I'm sure it would be a product that would be a must have for most on this site. | | Thread Tools | Search this Thread | | | | | Display Modes | Linear Mode |
