I believe a much better way to do dealer's choice is to use a dealer button. Since the deal is moving you don't need to move the button until a blind game is called. We play a lot of S.H.O.E where you do once around for each game, but when you want to mix it up this is the simplest solution IMO. Nice and easy, lemon squeezy!
Like most we do a full orbit of Hold Em if it's called & the next dealer can 'recall' it which keeps the blinds moving. Basically Hold Em is the favorite game so it often goes around 2 or 3 times until someone actually wants to stop it.
For people who play a full orbit of whatever is called what is the craziest/most expensive game you play and how many orbits of that do you play each night? I can't imagine watching an orbit of 6-7 hands in a row of something like Bingo or 3-5-7 which could easily put someone up or down $100+.
(I'd be happy to explain these games, too...2 of my favorites though 3-5-7 has since been pretty much outlawed because it was costing people too much and we never found a way to successfully 'fix' it for the stakes we wanted to play)
The most expensive game we have played is Crackhead (some people call it 5+2) Kind of like Guts, but each player is dealt 5 cards. Everyone antes, and you decide with 5 cards in or out. Everyone who is in gets 2 more cards and you make your best 5 card hand. Losers match the pot. I have seen an $800 pot go down with 2 people having to match ending the game!!
