Omaha with 5 hole cards?
I played at a dealer's choice home game and someone called OHL and they played it with 5 hole cards. Is Omaha hi-low with 5 hole cards spread at any Casinos?

Yes, very fun game.
Not often is it found, but plays exactly as Omaha does however with 5 hole cards. Must use two from your hand.

Re: Omaha with 5 hole cards?
played for the very first time this Saturday.
It was called thirty-seven.
You needed to have trips to win high, or a 7 low.
Craziness. and fun.

Re: Omaha with 5 hole cards?
It was a good change of pace, although it was harder to figure out what was going to win after playing 4-card omaha for what little experience I have.
Additionally, they played it where there was always a low hand, you didn't need three cards 8 or under on the board to have a low.
All in all, the game encouraged loose play.

Re: Omaha with 5 hole cards?
Is it using 5 hole cards throughout all betting rounds, or is like pineapple and you discard one?

They spread this at a local Indian casino, they call it "Big-O". It plays HiLo (8OB), and is usually a splash fest. It's good fun, and it's great to take advantage of all the nitty players who don't understand how many CCHHHOOIICCCESSS you get

I've played variants like this, we called it crazy pineapple omaha (H & H/L) or CPIO for short. I've heard of another variant where you discard a card on every street, not sure if it was played HE or Omaha style though.

John Vorhaus identifies this game exactly as you have in his home game primer Poker Night: Winning at Home, the Casino and Beyond (which I highly recommend, BTW). He mentions that he's seen it at a smaller club in Ventura, CA called the Player's Club.
If you think five-card Omaha is wild, try mixing it with tic-tac-toe, especially as JV suggests (he calls it "Bughouse" in the book, and adds in the option to use all five cards in your hand instead of making your hand from two in your hand and three on board; I call this game "Tic-Tac-Dough," in honor of one of my favorite game shows)

Yeah I forgot about the Player's Club! I grew up in Ventura, but was too young to play there when I lived there...I was referring to Chumash casino in Santa Ynez, and although the poker room is dying there they probably still spread it. Time to head back to Ventura this week!
