Has anyone ever heard of zip/49.

I play with some older fellows from the senior center now and again and they have games like zip/49 and 7/27. The first time I played these games they rapped me, but now I'm hanging with the old dudes.

zip/49 face cards are worth 0 and everyother card is face value. It is played hi/lo. try to get as close to 49 or 0. No reg poker hands.

7/27 similar but face cards are worth 1/2 a point also played hi/lo.

Different but fun games.

Oh yeah -- 3/33 is another twist. Then you have to call inside vs. outside (meaning you need to say before you play. Meaning if you say "inside" that means 3.5 (inside of 3 to 33) beats 2.5 if there happens to be a tie. And 32.5 would be 33.5 by the same reason. Fun game. I've always liked it.

Love em..............but lost alot of money on them too.....

Hate the players who plays for low and figures he's beat and then make a run for high.....another 5-6 rounds of betting.

Re: Has anyone ever heard of zip/49.

These games seem to get expensive, we have one guy that will hang in raising everyone hoping all the low hands fold if his hand looks to be low, and if they don't then goes for the hi after everyone is content and he thinks he is beet low.. I have figured him out just have to have the guts to stand your ground.
