My Dealer's Choice home game is more about socializing than really trying to hone poker skill or make money (I host tournaments for that!). So the pots rarely get very big. It's usually a 25 cent ante with a $1 raise limit (no limit on the number of raises / reraises).

So my friends can show up with $20 and have a good time playing all night.

Last night, we decided to end with 5 card draw, Jacks or better, trips to win. Or Jacks to open, trips to win. I've never had this go as long as it did last night. By the time I won the pot (woo hoo!) there was $19.70 in there. Again, that's not huge. But considering the stakes, it was enormous!

With one group (dealer's choice) we mix it up with 5 card draw, 7 card, etc., but there is always a round or 2 of Acey Duecey. The pot has grown to $200 because someone railed and had to double the bet. My buddy once had to put a blank check in the pot and try to win some cash back. It is away of moving money around the table. You can be up $50 from poker and then lose your hat playing this stupid game. They love watching people get burned. Insane....
