Re: What do you Play?

What's Super Hold Em?

My group usually plays dealers choice. Lately we have been playing the following games:

1) Hold Em
2) Omaha Hi/Lo
3) Omaha Hi/Lo with an exchange (everyone get's 3 cards and you can ditch 1 to get 2 or just get 1)
4) 3-Card Hold Em (is this Crazy Pineapple?)
5) Pineapple
6) Dan's Omaha Hi/Lo (everyone gets 5 cards and you must use 3 in the hand and 2 on the board)

For Hi/Lo games, dealer specifices whether there's no qualifier or an 8 qualifier.

Re: What do you Play?

Super Hold'em is three hole cards (play any, all or none)

Crazy Pineapple is just like Pineapple but you discard one card after the flop, (Pineapple is before the flop, in Tahoe you keep the third card but you can't use all three of your hole cards (must use 0, 1 or 2)

Re: What do you Play?

My usual home game is real cheap and more for social purposes than money-making purposes. And the group of people playing are there to have fun more than anything. So we play a wide variety of games.

5 card draw (with or without wilds)
7 card stud (w/ versions like "The queen and what follows and Low Chicago)
Hold em
Omaha
Anaconda / Pass the Trash
Cincinnati / Lamebrain Pete / Criss Cross (all games with community cards)
Midnight Baseball (barely even poker - but builds some big pots)

- and after viewing The Cincinnati Kid, the occasional game of 5 card stud.

Re: What do you Play?

Mostly cash no limit hold'em (2-5) with a no limit tourney once a month ($100 buy-in).

I have another smaller group of 6 that plays 10-20.

Re: What do you Play?

Before I started playing Texas Hold'em, I played a fair bit of (hi) Chicago. Recently some of my group have complained about being bored of hold'em, so I'm thinking of playing a Chicago cash game after our hold'em tournament tomorrow night.

Wow! I haven't been a CTer long, but I'm scared by how easy it was to read those acronyms and actually know what they meant (read them in words the first time through).

So would "limit high chicago" be L7HC?

Personally, I would use L7CSHC or L7CS-HC. Damn, I think that's pretty close to my license plate number.

Usually, for 7 card stud I just say 7CS but in deference to Jambine, I put L7CS as he play PL7CS which is the only person I know to have played that game.
