Chip Design Contest from ChipBoard (Link)

This is a copy of a posting that I found out on the ChipBoard ( thechipboard.com). I am not associated with this contest but thought you all would want to check it out and possibly help out and win something. The original posting URL is:

I need your help!! I am designing a line of Poker Chips, "Desert Palms", with the good people at The Blue Chip Company. It has come to the important stage where I must choose the chip color, edge spot configuration and edge spot colors. Too many choices!! I emailed Greg, and with his approval decided to have a contest. I need designs for $1, $5, $25, and $100 denominations. The winner for each denomination will have their choice of $100 (cash) or 200 "Desert Palms" chips of their choice. Entries will be accepted from now until 12:00pm August 19th, with the winners being announced on August 24th. Please either email me or post your entry by sending me pictures or mock-ups of your perfect chip! A picture of the $5 and $25 inlay is attached and the chips will have a custom mold, DESERT PALMS LAS VEGAS, NV. Time to let your creative juices flow! Thanks!! Jim

maybe circle should submit his colors from the samurais if they're not going to happen.

I'm not sure I understand... So the contest is only for choosing "chip color, edge spot configuration and edge spot colors"?? What options are going to be available (e.g. moons, triangles etc...)? Is there a complete list of available color choices?

Seeing the other inlays & the custom mold might be helpful.

Are you just wanting choices or is the contest for mock-ups etc...

I like the inlay design particularly the palm "l" in palm.

Thanks.

If these are made by bluechip (which they're going to be) then there isn’t going to be any moons/triangles etc... All the possibilities are represented on the samurai chips with a few exceptions. The rest can be seen on the NJ clays, the Grand Island chips AND a 4x1/2" spot config...

I just spoke with Dave at Blue Chip and I am somewhat limited on edge spots. I can do 3 or 4 spots (1/8 to 1/2) with up to 3 color combinations. No triangles or moons. He will be emailing me images of the inlays 1 3/8 and I will be posting them tomorrow. I should have the mold design soon too. Thanks!! Jim

I have actual samples of every possible spot configuration they will do. Fins, I would post a picture for you but I don’t have a camera and I told Dave I wouldn’t post pictures of the chips... Not because of the spot configs but because of the chips themselves... They are an amalgam of various inlays and quality, he sent them just for me to reference for the samurai chips... Sorry... Anyway, what I said in my last post is true as far as the options...

Fins asked me more specifically about BC spots... here is what I told him... thought someone else might be interested...

There are 3 spot sizes...

1/8"
1/4"
1/2"

The configurations are as follows

1/8 x 4 (samurai $1)
1/8 x 8 with 1/8 gaps (samurai $500)
1/8 x 9 (purple Mardi Gras)
1/8 x 12 (samurai $100)

1/4 x 2 (it’s a modified version of 1/4x4)
1/4 x 4 (NJ $5)
1/4 x 6 (samurai $5)
1/4 x 8 (samurai $25)

1/2 x 2 (this is a modified version of 1/2x4 - again they just make some spots the same as the base chip color to achieve the end effect)
1/2 x 3 (samurai $1000 or asm style)
1/2 x 4 (some older mockups of the samurai $1000 were like this)

Lastly, it’s worth noting that all the 1/2" spots are really just 1/4 spots that are the same colors. Also, I would guess that they can probably make a 1/8x2 if you asked them to... Again, just by making 2 of the 1/8x4 the same colors as the base chip...

Bellow is links to images that will show you all of the examples I referenced above... except the samurai chips, you know where to find those...

Ok, well here is something I put together while we are waiting to see your mold and get the inlays... I'm sure it’s totally different than your mold but hey it’s something to look at...

Anyway, I hope we are allowed to submit more than one set of options... I had this in mind for the $100...
