what do you think of these chips?

another design i was working on. let me know what you think. they look much better in an "ai" file. the gradients in the cutrain and stage got real distorted when i switched it to a jpeg file. anyone know of a way to fix that or of a way to post an ai file. also, i showed both $1 colors so nobody had to comment on the white/blue debate!

i guess they're too vertically oriented, with the candlestick and the curtain lines. i like that you're going with another concept, but am not sure these work for me right now.

Depending on your version of Illustrator, you can save a jpeg out of the program by "save for web" and choose your quality

I think the curtains have too much contrast in them, so they distract from the more interesting elements (candlestick, rose, mask). Maybe you could reduce the depth of the pleats? Or change the lighting somehow to reduce the contrast so the curtain doesn't look so much like vertical stripes.

Maybe lighten up the purple in the 500 a bit. It seems too close to the black in the 100.

Confusing maybe? Dunno... (1.74 ¢ worth)

i changed the quality setting on the "save for web" page. seems to have helped the gradients, but blurred the denoms and the ribbon a bit. oh well, between the two you can get an idea of what they reallly look like.

kinda crowded and hard to look at for more than 10 seconds. maybe lighten the stage and curtain in back so that just the denom and candlestick stand out if that's your main focus. it's a good start it's just not a design i would've chosen for myself.

Now all kidding aside.....

I think you should make it so that the curtain is dark. There should be somekind of a spotlight shining down on the candlestick, rose, and mask...just like it would be during the play....the entire stage is dark and all you can see is the phantom during his emotional monlogue!!!

Now that would be a cool chip. You could still make the curtain color match the chip color it would just be muted more. Then you could move the denom to the upper corner where it would be darker. Then the denom color could match the chip color and be accented by the blackness of the curtain!!??!!

Just a thought!
