I received the Matsui samples that I requested only a few days ago, very fast response on their part, very nice people to deal with. The sent a very nice package complete with design and color charts, a chip sleeve, and 9 chips

3 coin chips of varying weight - no scales sorry

5 composite chips

1 larger composite chip

I am not a coin chip lover but these are actually very nice. They are all considerably heavier than the regular chips and make chip tricks easier for a beginner like me.

The clay/composite chips are very smooth with almost no texture, inlays are very well done and I was impressed with their colors and composition. The edge spots are perfect in alignment to the chips and are all very uniform unlike some of the others I have seen. The chips are slightly larger than my chipco samples in diameter and thickness. They sound just like the chipcos to my tone deaf ears.

All in all I would be happy with a set of these chips, but I am waiting for the rest of my samples.

In the photo I included three casino chips in the top three left spots, the rest came with the package.

I like those two chips in the bottom row on the left.

A casino near me (in Green Bay, WI) uses chips that I'm pretty sure are made by them. They have that very slick feel to them. They are actually some pretty nice chips.

Yes, their coin chips are among the best out there, available as Murphy's, Rounders, etc.

Their decal chips are great -- close to the classic Bud Jones chips. The Matsuis are made from a slightly different compound that's a little harder/slicker than BJs, IMO. I think the Green Bay (Oneida Casino) chips are actually Bud Jones, unless they've changed since the last time I was there.

Matsuis are 40mm in diameter, slightly larger than the 39mm American standard that you'll find in Chipcos, Paulsons, BJs, etc.

The lower right chip is one of their cheaper roulette-style chips.

I really like the one on the top right corner and the 3 on the botton left. How come they did not send you any clay ones?

Matsui is making new clays and the samples are not ready from the factory yet, so they say. Read all about the drama on the last few pages of this thread:
