Chips: 62 | | | Design help for the creativity impaired. All right, we have some very talented artists here. I am sending out a plee for help! I have a general design idea for a custom set, but lack the patience to get it into any sort of design tool. If you are interested in helping out send me a PM and I will send you my ideas. They will most likely be ASM's. If I choose your design I will pay you $25 and a sample set of the chips upon arrival.
Thanks,
Lumpy |

Chips: 1,087 | | | I am impaired on both the creativity and tools fields but that´s fine.
I took a lot of time taking a look at other chips designs as well as some places on line where you can get out of your 'insight' block (such as coolhomepages.com - look for the logos area).
I will have to thank (or apologize) somewhere in the line to Hard Rock as I stole their chip design flames (previously stole by them from hot rods) and to kind users from the forum who have showed chips with Japanese ideograms.
I mixed it all with a little tequila and here you have my design. It´s in the draft stage with PC.com (great service from Bob by the way - even better than I expected).
Concerning the tools you should really give it a try as playing with it is simpler than you can think of and it offers you the opportunity to find out your real orientation for your chip design. After playing with it I changed my mind 4 times!
Besides that even with a final design in hands you can see additional stuff you haven't realized just yet. It happened to me and I think it happens for most of the people.
That´s my 2 cents but of course as a forum habitue you probably know you can look for Jason and Linbark´s services. Which is great as I have already worked with both of them - for Nexgens and Faux clays. |

Chips: 1,589 | | | Lumpy,
I feel for you as I have been reluctant to go out and purchase software to do it myself too. Not because of the cost, but because of the time involved to learn another program. I have a bunch of ideas, but I am not a design artist.
I am reluctant to go in on a group buy as I would really like to have a set that is truly custom. I don't mind the idea of a few others out there having the same set, but I don't like the idea of my chips being available at some poker chip web site for anyone to just go out and buy.
Did you get any interest in your offer?

Chips: 62 | | I did get several offers. This a great board with many members that are willing to lend a hand. Things are progressing nicely at this point. |

Chips: 1,589 | | | Have you thought about opening it up for a group buy? What I was thinking was along the lines of a very limited group buy where the chips would not be available from a retailer after it is over.
Group buys have become so popular, but I don't understand why there aren't more that go this way. To go with a limited group buy seems like the best of both worlds to me. You would get the security of a custom chip, you would likely get a very well designed, sweet chip set and you would get a relatively low price too.
What is wrong with this picture?
BTW, Lumpy I like your name/ Avatar Mostly due to the fact that Tim Herron is from my area and I have met his dad. They seem like good people!

The current design incorporates my last name and the first initial of my wife, 2 daughters, and myself. I wanted them to be personal.
Just based on what I have seen on TV Herron seems like a nice guy. The FootJoy commercial with Herron and Parnevik from a few years ago was a riot. |

Good luck in any case.
