It looks great as a patch, but it might be too busy and/or hard to make out once you shrink it down. A ceramic chip might not be too bad, but a clay inlay may be too small to use the entire graphic.
As a military man myself, I have also had the desire to make custom chips out of past command graphics, but have yet to find a way to make it work and still be recognizable.

U.S. Navy for fifteen years this October. I good friend of mine used to be a C-130 crew chief in the Air Force, but is now Navy also.
I actually have all of the graphics, but they are too detailed to look coherent when they are shrunk down small enough to fit on a chip. As of late I have kind of moved away from custom chips in favor of buying a set of Paulson clays.
