Chips: 34 | | | Feedback on a Label Design[EDIT:Final Revision Posted] So I have been working on this label for aouta month now. It has changed quite a bit since I have decided to get some nexgens, as I have changed the scheme to match the chips. Any feedback would be appreciated. I am actually specifically worried about the stye/coloring of the lettering. Thanks in advance. |

Chips: 714 | | | I think the font is hard to read.
Maybe more contrast between the font color and background color, or remove the shadow from the font? |

Chips: 157 | | | I personally think that is THE font for an Irish themed chip especially in Gaelic. I think the problem is you have gone a little over the top on the Photoshop effects. Try reversing the colors with white text and a black outline (just a solid outline 1 or 2 pixels wide). The drop shadows and glow glow efeects take away from the chip design instead of adding to it. Also vector graphics will be much sharper than the rasterized Photoshop graphics especially on such a small space. If you have Illustrator I would recommend using that or finding someone who does (or Freehand for that matter). If you do not know anybody I would be willing to help out with Illustrator. Think the idea is fantastic though and will look great with a little tweaking. |

Chips: 53 | | To start, great design, as an Irishman myself, I'm a big fan. But I agree with Jimmy... too many fancy effects for my tastes. I'm a believer that graphics that are too complicated are hard to pull off at such a small scale, and I might lose some of the drop shadows, etc. Still, the font is great, the images are nice, and I like the weave pattern around the edge - it eliminates the problems of matching inlay color to chip color, and should make it difficult to find discrepancies in label centering.
And thank God for spellcheck. |

Chips: 34 | | | Ok, thanks for the advice. After looking at it, I can definitely see where I might have gotten a little Photoshop happy. Its easy when you are dealing with a larger canvas, but I think the criticisms are right that say when it is shrunk down it will be too much. I will work on some simplifications and repost.
Also, I do have Illustrator, but I am not very adept at using it. I may try messing around or awhile and see what happens.
Thanks again. |

Chips: 606 | | | Nice design.
Is it just an illusion, or is the space between Cumann and Pócair much wider than the space between the other words?
I like the font. Have you tried white text on the green background? That could possibly increase the readability. In the scale you are working, I think you need to consider simplicity.
Will all the chips have a green label?

The font is fine, but because of the shadow/color choices it is hard to read. |

Chips: 34 | | Ok, here is the simplified version, including the white lettering. I think it will work much better. And no, the chips will not all have the green label, I just wanted to get opinions on one first so I didn't have to change all of them multiple times. There will also be a 5 (red), 100 (black), and 500 (yellow), all matching the nexgen 8000 Las Vegas chip.
EDIT:I havefinished the full set mockup, and have included that instead of the pic of only the 25. | | Thread Tools | Search this Thread | | | | | Display Modes | Linear Mode |
