Chip Label Feedback

Long-time lurker here. I have a large set of the 9g Las Vegas Pro "Clays". They are decent and have a pretty good feel and sound, but the labels are hideous. So, I've been working with Jason to do some custom labels. I should note that the main colors are being matched to the chips and the secondary colors are matched to the edge spots. Note also that the recess area on these chips is 1.25" and we are making 1.2" labels.

The problems we're having are:

1. Getting the fish graphic to show up on the chip and not be blurry.
2. Getting the denoms in without making the chip too "busy".
3. In the first set of images, the cards are not big enough to be seen when sized down to the actual size of the labels.

We are open to any/all comments on how to make these better. So, fire away...

Thanks.

Scot

What a fun looking design!

As much as I like the $1000 chip you showed by itself, I think the simpler design on the 'all' pic works better. Though I'd take the cards out of the fish's mouth. He looks better (meaner?) in the $1000 chip pic.

I think the denoms on your all pic work better (i.e. without the words around the inside) and if you went with just the numbers for the denoms, maybe you could include the suits the way you did on the busier $1000 chip.

I think you're off to a great start. I'm sure with a bit of tweaking this is going to be a very colorful and exciting set to see.

Thanks for sharing!
Allan

I agree with this atatement. The cards need to go.

I disagree with this. I think the $1000 chip looks much better and clearer.

Cool design.

Those designs look awesome! Nice job! They would even look good as a custom Chipco design.

I also like the design on the $1000 label over the other ones. I like the look of the suits and denom on that label.

I would worry about how these would look once shrunk down to a label size. They look great enlarged but may lose some detail when shrunk. (Hence why I thought these would make a great custom Chipco).

I like it, but I'd say make the green chip green and vlack instead of green and yellow. The fish is damned hard to see in yellow.

Good call. That also makes me think that a yellow fish on the black chip would look good. Maybe that's an area to play around with if you stay with the "plainer" inlay instead of the $1000 chip one.

Put me in the camp that prefers the set over the $1000 design. I'd also get rid of the dollar amount on the top side - I don't know why but it just bothers me a little.

-as posted on 2+2:

I like the second one. I think, however, you don't need the denom 4 times. Just pick a spot and put it there. Also the font seems a bit inconsistant, perhaps that is by design (the word ROOM the first 'O' is bold, the second isn't)

I also have the 9G clays, but not the pro's and labeled them, but I only had to peel labels on the purples because I bought the blanks knowing I was going to label them. Have fun with that!

Those are killer!! Iwouldn't mind having those on a set of chips *cough* ASM Group Buy *cough*. I like the $1k the best, cards gone from the mouth and it just looks like a more crisp graphic. Very nice.

Jason
