Custom design opinions wanted

I found this site last week, and since then I've become obsessed with designing my own clay chips. What do you think of this design? Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Looks good, love the slogan, you must be from NH. Try a drop shadow on the eagle to make the head a bit more distinguishable.

yeah.. i hope you live in NH and not Idaho.. otherwise your chip slogan would be "Famous Potatoes".

I'm not from NH, but I love their state motto. This is the first of 4 designs I'm working on.
The others are:
"Give Me Liberty" / torch or Statue of Liberty
"Justice For All" / scales of justice
and, of course,
"Guns Save Lives" / 'so many guns so little space'

Thanks for the advice, I modified the eagle by adding the drop shadow and it does look much better.

Artistically, the style is a little too "Bandwagon Patriot" for my tastes. From a technical standpoint, I think the font is too small and almost unreadable. The art may be a bit busy with the image-over-an-image thing, though keeping low opacity on the background art and adding the dropshadow to the eagle (as Cin0s3 suggested) should help.

Nice theme! Keep in mind that the actual label will be about 3/4 the size you have shown in relation to the chip size. I would make the font larger and the image slightly smaller. You may also think about doing a two sided chip (there's no extra charge) put the eagle on one side and the patriots on the other.

What's a "Bandwagon Patriot"? That's a term I would use to describe today's "Conservatives", who believe it's patriotic to be the world's police force.
I was originally thinking of phrases like "Separation of School and State" and "Welfare is Theft", but I decided to keep it light.

I agree that the overlapping graphics are a little busy. I'm either going to reduce the opacity further or move the patriots to the other side of the chip as ram1962 suggests below.

Thanks for the encouragement. If I create my own labels for HH chips, do I still have to reduce the size to 3/4?

It would probably be preferable. In inner circle is sightly less than 1" on the HH mold. It's also why PCOL will only do a 1" inlay on the Roman and A molds.

I believe the actual label size is 7/8". I'm not sure if it is all printable area though. On my 1" labels, their graphic artist was able to send me a template to use to make sure that all the graphics stayed inside the printable area.
