Chips: 59 | | | Designer's Block Hello all my new friends. I've been hangin' around, hangin' around for awhile, digging up all the info I can get to order a custom set of chips. I'm going with ASM (thanks to Tabasco for the new mock-up), probably HH and I need some color help.
Considering that ASM's Horsehead mold was more popular in and around the 60's and 70's, I've decided that I would like my customs to have that same feel, right down to the color printed inlay which I'll be using ink color-tones which match with the colors used in the period. I'm going to use denominations in the following amounts, $1, $2, $4, $8. What I would like is opinions on color selections with edge spots for these chips, keeping in mind that most chips in play in the 60's were of a more muted variety, nothing to wild.
As well,I'm not sure if I want to go the tradition route with base colors, but I can't get over the fact that a white chip is a $1 chip in my mind, so I'm thinking white with solid orange for the edges. Fire away. |

Chips: 59 | | | Hmmm. Maybe this will help:
$1 White/Orange
$2 Imperial Blue/Yellow
$4 Mandarin Red/Day Glow Pink
$8 Chocolate/Day Glow Peach
Nice suggestion to me.
Should I post a pic of them when they're done or keep them to myself? |

Here are some old (mostly) ASM chips I had laying around my computer when I was gathing ideas. |

hk | I know ASM still owns the small key mold. That would have been perfect for my greek chips. But I'm not certain about the large key mold. |

Chips: 59 | | | Thanks for the input Space. The scans you showed are all designs I've had in mind. By the way, your customs came out nicely. |

Chips: 8 | | | Hey Finzz
keep in touch with me on your project, as I think your direction is on par with mine. Perhaps you could even tie in jockey's and horse racing somehow, then the horsehead mold would be completely appropriate. I'd definitely have no shadow or even outlines on the characters on yor chip...just broad, flat color. Could you specify exactly what you mean by ink colors? |

Chips: 59 | | | Funny, because I used to train racehorses and even have a horse tattoo. While I still love to ride, racing is in the past. I thought about it long and hard because of those 16 horseheads, but I'm leaning more towards a poker theme for the chip. I'm currently searching for the proper logo, a jumping, happy bum or hobo. Try to picture the brown pants, crumpled brown hat and rain coat, yet he's so happy, he's jumping for joy. Any help there would be appreciated. My art skills are rusty at best.
As for the colors, I've been thinking of using fonts that match the chip colors. Imperial Blue for the lettering and Orange for the denoms. Picture the colors of the Howard Johnson, talk about the late 60's, early 70's.
I've also decided to ax the $8 denomination chip. Sticking with 1, 2, 4 and adding to the order a bit to get it up to the $800 total I'm searching for. $80x10 for a 2/4 limit game. I am also going to add a chip without edges, ala the old .50 chips. |

Chips: 25 | | | Good chip color choices! Chocolate/DG Peach will be badass. What about White/Arc Yellow? I think someone posted pictures here or on 2+2 that were excellent! |
