Pharaoh order -- help, please!!!

I went through the process to order on HoldEmPokerChips. 1000 chips and 20 plaques. I want to purchase with a credit card. I want some NCV chips, so I have to go through HoldEmPokerChips.

I have a PayPal account. The credit card that I want to use for the chip purchase is the same credit card that is already registered with my PayPal account. I don’t have another credit card option.

I use the instructions previously given by the 10%er -- I click on the “secure payment” method as if I did not have a PayPal account. When I enter the credit card info, it tells me that this is the same credit card as a registered PayPal user (yeah, that’s me, that’s my card). So my only option is to log into my PayPal account and pay that way.

When I log into my PayPal account, it takes me to the “Add Credit Card” screen to register a new credit card. I don’t want to register a new credit card, I want to use the same credit card that is already registered with my PayPal account. No matter what I do, I can’t get past the “register new credit card” screen.

If I try to enter the same credit card info, it tells me “error -- credit card already registered.” I know, stupid computer -- that’s the one I want to use to pay!!! So let me complete the transaction already!

Can anyone help out on this? It shouldn’t be this difficult to pay with a credit card...

Why don't you just pay via PayPal?

Yea, I believe if you pay with PayPal and don't have the funds to cover it in your account, they will just charge the card that you have linked to the PayPal account. This should work.

Same exact thing happened to me. I did not want to use paypal b/c they screwed me the first time i tried. Here's what happened: I am positive (because I read every word on the screen) that the "source of funds" was to come from my credit card instead of my bank account. The next thing I knew, it came from my bank account, and boy was I pissed. Call Paypal and they were obviuosly very rude and asked me if I had a picture of the screen (as if anyone takes a picture of their computer screen when checking out) to verify that it was supposed to come from my credit card instead of my bank account.
Anyways, I was skeptical of using paypal (in light of my first experience and their rudeness), and tried to do the "No, I do not have a paypal account" option, but it told me that the credit card and email address I was trying to use was already "registered."
Here's what ya have to do---pm mspatton or holdempokerchips and he'll give you a remedy! Worked for me.

Did this and mspatton says he will line me up with what I'm trying to order. Recommended solution for others who have this problem.

CapnLego -- read carefully...your suggestion is exactly what I was trying to do, and I was completely blocked at the "Add Credit Card" screen no matter what I tried through my PayPal account...

I thought I *did* read carefully.... it was this part that confused me:

I was wondering why you wanted to pay as if you *did not* have a PayPal account when in fact you *do* have a PayPal account.... I thought that was why the system got confused. I guess I'm the one that's confused. Sorry

Because then you can use a credit card without having to register it with paypal and go thru all that b.s. You can just type in your CC info and name & address.

Except in his case, his credit card was already registered with paypal. I thought that's why he was having trouble.... he didn't want to pay via paypal, but he wanted to use the same credit card that was already registered with paypal. So I thought the system might be happier with him if he just tried to pay via paypal in the first place, rather than trying to pay with his credit card.

OK, I'm going to stop now. I seem to be just adding to the confusion of everybody, including myself.

Paypal

It's hard to keep up with who's who here as id's here and names in my
system don't match. I do not recall what I advised anyone in particular

Here is Paypal's basic deal.....

If you have an account and login when prompted from my cart checkout
you are required to pay with

1. Existing Funds
2. Funds from your Bank
3. Funds from your credit card

Paypal will always take the funds from your account first before option
#2 and/or #3.

If you log in and want to use a dfferent CC then the one attached to your
account you will have to verify that card, which takes a day or two.

If you just want to pay via CC you have to choose "I do not have an
account" and Paypal serves as a CC processor. The only catch here is that
if the CC you want to use is attached to your Paypal account then it does
not allow this and you have to go back to above. Login and proceede.
But it will process any card not attached to an account normally.

This is the one single issue I am fighting right now.

Paypal not being able to process a CC charge for a user that has registered
the card on their Paypal account without taking their Paypal cash
balance first.

If you want to use a CC attached to you PP account you must login and
lose your cash balance.

This has never been an issue until this Group Buy.

Going forward we are going to evaluate this, but it is hard to beat Paypal's
fee schedule and being able to process UPS and USPS from their site
without address entry. Saves time and errors.

If anyone is having a problem please email me directly at
sales@holdempokerchips.com we do have other options we can do and
we will get your order processed. The important thing is we have you
chip count soon s we can project our order on Monday.

Michael

I wonder if you could get around the existing cc on your account issue if you use an email address other than your paypal email address for the order.

Also, people should know that even though paypal claims to take AMEX cards, this does NOT work for AMEX gift cards (WHICH TOTALLY SUCKS!!!) I've got a friggin $250 gift card I can't use pretty much anywhere online because of this.
