BCC Custom Chips - Lay of the Land as of Summer 2012
Is there a current summary of the "low down" on ordering custom chips from BCC?
Basically:
1. Cost
2. Minimum order size
3. Minimum number per denomination
4. Molds available (and source)
5. Inlays (size, different front/back inlays possible?, die-cut, etc)
6. Weight of chips
7. Anything else I might be missing?
I've looked through the forum extensively and I haven't found any one place with all the info (and many threads with conflicting info).
Thanks,
Goph

2 - 4000 to 5000
3 - about 200-300 IIRC
4 - flame mold is the only one offered by BCC but some others can be rented
5 - no die cut, different front and back are no problem but you'll pay an extra art fee for each.
6 - either standard bcc lightweight (7-8g) or heavyweight (9-10g)
7 - expect a very long wait (don't even ask for a delivery estimate, they'll miss it) and errors/problems that they may or may not be willing to correct without a big fight, but you should know this if you've actually been searching and reading threads on the subject. If you don't know what I mean then you haven't read enough. (one place to start - http://www.chiptalk.net/forum/custom...-bad-ugly.html)

BCC is a funny way to spell ASM but here you go...
1. Varies...there are 5 levels depending on the complexity of the spots
2. 300 for the initial order...200 for the 44mm...add-on orders can be smaller
3. As few as you want...an order of 300 would let you have 3 different, 400 would be 4
4. CSQ, DSQ, HHR, FDL, E&C, Hourglass, Diamond B
5. Size varies depending on the mold. Die cut is available
6. 8 to 9 grams
7. That ASM is the best company to buy custom chips from
8. Realistic delivery dates that are met
I know the above is not what you asked but compare it to JM's answer and you may see the answer to OP.

Someone just link to BillJr's thread and OP will have more than enough info. I'd do it but I'm posting on my phone and it would take forever.

Re: BCC Custom Chips - Lay of the Land as of Summer 2012
Thanks for the responses so far. I had previously read BillJr's threads and other threads, but some are from a year or more ago, so I'm not sure how accurate they are.
I was thinking that something like a BCC wiki would be helpful, to centralize all the facts/data about BCC custom orders. I'm a new member here, but happy to coordinate that.
One thing I'm still not clear on is what molds are available? I know the flame mold is available, but what about the MGK or C&S? How do you go about getting other molds?
Thanks,
Goph

Re: BCC Custom Chips - Lay of the Land as of Summer 2012
You have to rent the molds from the owners. For example C&S is owned by Sidepot and not available for renting (I have asked). Joshuadalton owns MGK mold. About a year ago I put a thread about BCC molds here: http://www.chiptalk.net/forum/custom...bcc-molds.html
Hope it helps.

And what you should take away from that is the problems and crappy customer service issues continue to occur.
