Which Alignment of 3-spot Chips Do You Prefer?

Just curious. Given the choice, which alignment of spots on a 3-spot chip do you prefer?

I like them top heavy.
6 oclock for me.

Depends on where the elements of the inlay are. If the denom is at 6 o'clock, then I like the spots to align with it, sort of underlining it.

I've always thought that the one-spot-at-6:00 version looked upside down, or as mizuchaud put it, top heavy.

I find that it draws my eye down to the denom (so I don't mistake it for a quarter )

btw, if this is for your new ASM set, there is another option for you to consider. They will do random placement of the inlay if you request it.

I like the one at 12 o'clock. It grabs your eye and then down to the inlay. Nice way to have a chip.

I've already requested ASM to align most of the spots at 12:00, 4:00, and 8:00, and J5 was kind enough to align them that way in my mockups. (Thanks again, J5.)

I asked for opinions because I almost always see them aligned at 2:00, 6:00, and 10:00, which looks upside down to me. Even the CT smilies are aligned this way. However, this alignment on the CT 3T318 smilies always reminds me of the pointy haired boss with a goatee.

Re: Which Alignment of 3-spot Chips Do You Prefer?

I like both as well. I also think it depends on the elements of the inlay.
