sample set etiquette
So my design is finished and Gene (ABC) has my prototypes printed and they are on the way to me!! I can not wait.
Anyway, this brings me to the point when I have to think numbers. So my question to the masses is this, do I just start a thread asking if people would like sample sets or do I order a few extras for is people ask in the future... what have you guys/gals done in the past or plan to do in the future?
I will run a little contest thing to give away a set, but I think these are cool chips and the thoughts of someone, somewhere possible having my chips in their poker room (framed or not) is cool to me. So I just wanted to throw this out there.
I will post pics of the prototypes when I get them in my anxious little hands!

Re: sample set etiquette
I'd say either start an interest thread or just order extras SPECIFICALLY for CTers to purchase as sample sets (in addition to extras that you would normally buy). If you go with the latter, once you're out you're out. No big deal IMO.

I order extras and just give them away.

Re: sample set etiquette
I don't think I'd over do it on extras, but be sure to take care of the people who helped you on the set, and people who have sent you sample sets in the past. Definitely do some contests and give a set to the ones who give you good advice . You have a great looking set, I'm sure there will be a few you will need to give away in the future so keep that in mind too.

Strangely enough I didn't follow my own advice for any of the custom sets I've had made. I just decided to give away the extras that ASM included in my order as sample sets. Sometimes it was only a couple, other times it was more. And most often I'll just toss in a spare in a package I'm sending out just as a "business card" so to speak

I bought a few extra sets and sent them out to people that helped, gave valuable input, or asked for a set. After sending out to those people, I had a couple sets left. So I kept an eye out for anybody that was thinking about purchasing something similar but needed help making a decision.
