Chips: 2,046 | | | color chart for chips Ok guy`s & gal`s let`s see how everyone would make a standardized color chart for chip`s let`s do .25˘ .50˘ 1$ 2$ 5$ 10$ 25$ 50$ 100$ 500$ 1000$ 5000$ 10,000$ 25,000$xxxxxxxxI hope we can come up with many combinations Ok i`ll be the first guinnea pig! .25˘ Grey .50˘ light green 1$ white 2$ orange 5$ red 10$ light blue 25$ dark green 50$ dark blue 100$ black 500$ pink 1,000$ yellow 5,000 chocolate 10,000 purple 25,000 gold. I tried to make the colors so there would be a sharp contrast between denoms to make them easily stand out. OK your turn step up to the plate and give it your best shot. remember if we can get this right it wouldn`t matter if denoms were used or not the values would still be the same. go for it, have fun & god bless. |

Chips: 13,935 | | | $1 = Blue (my preference) or White
$5 = Red
$25 = Green
$100 = Black
$500 = Purple
$1000 = Yellow
$5000 = Pink
But I'm more of a traditionalist and only my opinion.
The rest ($0.25 $0.50, $2, $3, $4, $10, $50, $10,000+) should be any color you want. The creativity and uniqueness of a chip comes from the inlay design and the edge spot colors, not necesarily the base color of the chip. The chip colors above seem to be common and I believe casinos have stardized on at least the Red, Green, Black and Purple. I read somewhere (and of course I don't have the details) but the moral of the story was that a new casino opened up and made a black $1 chip - the others freaked out thinking that confussion could arise if the $1 black chips were brought in and mixed up with their $100 Black chips.
Again, just my opinion - but for your chips in your game - get and use what you like.
Thanks,
Matt

but do you not agree that it would be much easier to have a consistent color scheme, so that "everybody" would know what color a denomination is supposed to be? If we all started using the same color scheme, this could happen in a very short period of time. you already say that you are a traditionalist, and there are certain colors that none of us disagree on (red, green, black).
what is wrong with having a full spectrum color scheme? we are the premiere poker chip discussion forum are we? We should decide right here and now, and make it official. |
