okay Jason, time for you to show a picture of your own chips.
Point taken hehee, my nexgen denoms are a little screwy but so is the cash games that I use them in.

wow opened pandora`s box, that`s ok let it out. i liked the idea of silver coin being 10,000 and gold coin being 25,000 great idea, thanks for the input also thanks to ten for understanding the question at hand, hope other`s see the point. seems like those on the west coast favor a mixed up and inconsistant value system for chip denoms [ are you guys trying to sneak a few in @ different games only kidding] god bless.

sorry just a thought i forgot to mention , you notice the really big tournys you see on tv at the final table how the chips are just too many to be stacked, well if a color up was in order it would reduce the volume of chips on the table. you know the blinds just get really huge towards the end and chips like 10,000 @ 25,000 would make it easier taking all the 1000 $ chips off the table. I`m not positive but i think there is a 25,000 chip out there somewhere. I mean for tournys. just my humble opinion.

I think the main reason they don't race off chips at TV final tables is that "Big stacks make good TV." I'd have to agree, it would look kind of stupid to have the heads up match use ~200 chips (like in most tournaments I've played in), much more dramatic to have 2000 chips on the table.

You're correct about it being a PITA to post blinds and bets.

My planned custom set:

$0.05 - Nickels
$0.25 - White
$1 - Blue
$5 - Red
$25 - Green
$100 - Black
$500 - Purple
NCV - Yellow

What it'll probably turn out as:
$1 - any color random chip since these damn dice sets don't come with consistent colors

In responce to "big stacks make for good TV." Did anyone see the PLO WSOP on ESPN? They colored up right at the end and it looked kinda funny. The final 2 and they both had these little stacks.
