yaw- great collection... how long have you been collecting?? i assume youve been buying and selling thru ebay....
I've actually been to a lot of those places and had friends pick some of them up. Also did some trading via snail mail. I started collecting them in '00 and just recently sold the set for $175 to a guy on a different forum. I've started a new collection on my last trip to Vegas. It's kind of fun to have them, but after awhile you realize that you blew $100 on chips you will NEVER use. I'll sell my new collection when it gets big enough, if my kids will let me
hey has anyone noticed that the blue 1$ chips are mostly west coast in nature. the white1$ chips mainly east coast. looks like we have some east coast against west coast action going on, you could almost cut the country in half and see for yourself. thought that was interesting, did anyone else notice this also.
I believe the reason for west coast being different goes back a few decades when CA primarily had card rooms and not casnios. If I'm not mistaken, it was state regulated that they had to be 'different' colors. You'll notice west coast $5's are yellow, $25 purple, $100 white. Also have a good mix of chips --> $10(red/brown) and $20(black) <-- to accomodate higher stakes poker games that took place in the card rooms.
