Chips: 13,075 | | | Checkmate Poker Chips I'm in the middle to later stages of design for my custom Chipcos being make at http://homepokerchips.com and things are going great. Here's where we are at the moment:
I'm changing the text to just say "Checkmate's" since it would be nearly impossible to read as is. I've also got other changes about some of the specific parts of the chip but the basics are there for your viewing pleasure/commentary.
Let me know what you think! I can still use good ideas.

Chips: 1,861 | | | That's a cool theme, good design (as I would expect from homepokerchips.com). The only thing that bugs me a little is the blank edge spot on your non denom chip... I can't think of anything good to put in there though, maybe the symbol for infinity? I don't even know why having a blank front looks "normal" to me but the missing denom on the edge doesn't. Strange.

Chips: 250 | | | great design, ive never seen anything like it before. i dont know if you were going for simplicity, but i think it would be cool to make the edge spots more complex (on all the chips). Maybe make 8 edge spots with the denoms on every other edge spot. There are many variations you could try. Good luck, keep us posted. |

Chips: 62 | | | Nice design. I'm not a fan of the denom's on the edge spots, but they look great otherwise. |

Chips: 822 | | | Nice design. I love the chess board background. They look great so far. I can't wait to see your final mockup and final product.

I had already asked to add some thin gold bands to the outside of the edgespots so they will be a bit more pronounced. I think putting eight of them on there might be a bit overdone but I like the idea of alternating them. Maybe it would look good with just four.... hmmmm.

I agreed with that sentiment and having the denoms appeal to me a great deal. I may have to add something to the NV chip though, like "checkmate" just to make them uniform.
Appreciate the comments, though. Keep 'em coming.

Chips: 15,967 | | | why is the pawn knocked down in back?
if it's checkmate, shouldn't it be a king? that's what i remember from your last thread. if so, it should more clearly be a king (cross on head, et cetera). |

I think the image behind is actually a queen but yes you are correct. Patrick found this particular image at clipart.com and overall it conveys the idea I was looking for so I'm not unhappy about it. Perhaps I'll ask him to change the head to a king's mitre.
