My new martini design. Discuss My new martini design, on ChipTalk.net the place to go for your Poker chips and gambling tips. Read it in Custom Chips General.
Hey everyone!
Great posts here everyone. This forum is a tremendous resource. Thanks for setting it up Ten!
Below is a rough draft of a new custom chip I am working on for my home games. It is VERY rough as I have absolutely no artistic talent! But I think I like the over all flavor. What do you guys think? Anything you would change?
Obviously once I have it produced I will ask for all of the font styles to match up. I am also not sold on the interior colors yet...I am intending this to be used on the new Nexgen chips.
Any insight or advice will be GREATLY appreciated!
The martini glass outline is simple and effective.
I like the way the slashes over the i's in martini echo the side of the glass.
Maybe the 'i' in Mike could look the same way.
I also might carry the stem of the glass all the way to the bottom of the design, between "game' and 'room' and put the 'and' over it or beside it (or use an '&')
Just some thoughts. Remember that free advice is rarely worth what you pay for it.

PS My wife (who is an artist and newletter editor) said "nice design -- too may fonts"
I agree with the too many fonts comment. However, I really like the way the stem runs into the "and game room" at the bottom of the label. The text looks like the base of the martini glass. Great start!
Thanks for the positive feedback! As I mentioned, I have zero artistic talents and just used a web image in addition to powerpoint to create this. I will be certain to ask the label designer to match up the fonts. I would like everything except the word "club" to have the same font style.
I intended the "and game room" portion to look like the bottom of the martini glass. I still like this concept but will entertain continuing the line and using the bottom of the glass to underline the "game room" part.
Everything else look good? Looks balanced and classy? Should anything be added? Any thoughts about what colors I should use for the various chip denominations?
The Nevada Jack Martini Club chips certainly look nice- but I cannot spend $500 on a 500 chip set. Not to mention they wouldn't be custom. I can already hear my friends asking me where to find a cactus!!
That said, I make a LOT of martini's and am the acting "Mixologist" at every party I host or attend!

I guess the way i look at it is "You only live once." So, splurge.
