I agree 100%. I really dislike Chipco designs that try to mimic a clay chip. It's nice to be different too.

CON - It isn't as colorful as it could be, and is pretty similar from chip to chip.

In the end, I think I am going to stick with it as is unless I can come up with something different that really grabs me.
How about making the diamonds black, with the boxes surrounding the diamonds a contrasting color to the base of the chip? For example: Green chip, orange or pink boxes with black diamonds. Red chip with blue or yellow boxes and black diamonds.

Or maybe you could go with different hues of reds, purples and yellows for edge spot colors to mimic different wines.

PS I really appreciate all of the advice I have recieved. Even if I haven't taken all of it, it has been very helpful.
That's what we're here for. BTW, I definitely perfer the two sided design. And I like the colored wine bottles vs. just black.

My wife saw this and laughed. Since we live in a dry county, the wine bar would be just as illegal as the poker emporium. Fortunately, there are just about as many ways around the liquor laws as there are around the gambling laws.

Getting VERY close:

The only questions that remain are:
-- the font, especially on the bottom of the yellow chip
-- the color of the wine graphic on the black chip (we could go white)
-- I think the DC on the green chip should be outlined in black

I also have started to worry about teh edge spots on the purple chips - I think they get lost. This is much more apparent when it is printed at actual size than it is on the computer screen. I may switchh to a dark purple diamond and light purple stripes.

I have spent so much time looking at these chips that I can't tell what I like anymore. I am also REALLY ready to stop designing them and start playing with them.

Printers have trouble with different shades of purple. I could never print a picture of my poker table that would actually Look like my poker table.

I wouldnt be too worried about it. The chips look great! No one is going to pick up your chip and be like... " you know, you shouldve went with a lighter purple stripe here."

you could also try white outline on every chip for the DC and the wine.

-I think the font's okay.
-I liked the matching colored wine bottles, but all in black do make them stand out more. I think the wine bottle is fine in black on the black chip.
-I also think the DC on the green chip should be outlined in black.

That should make those edge spots stand out more and be more like the others, good idea.

Heh. Been there. Many of us have. You've done a great job and come a long, long way over the past month. It's almost over, and you have great chips soon to be on their way to you! [smilie=lol.gif]

The font on the yellow chip is fine.
The color of the wine graphic on the black is fine.
Yes, outline the DC on the green chip with black.

The edgespots are fine but the changes you suggest would be ok also.

I'd say you're at that magical 99.9% complete state. Now to finish the other 50% [smilie=biggrin.gif]

Great chips. Would love to trade you one of each of my custom chess chips for yours when we get them.
