Cheaper custom chips that aren't ceramic or plastic

For a Dutch poker club we're trying to switch to all-customs. We have a tourney set coming in soon which is a stickered set Nex Gen River Poker Tours, but we also want and desperately need, in fact, another set of chips. In order to keep things clear between what is cash and what is tourney, we are definitely going for VASTLY different chips from the tournament set.

We have a set of Lucky Dragons for our cash game (as well as the Dune chips and a set of cheap third-table chips) but we want to transition into customs for a number of reasons that don't really matter right now. What does matter, however, is that we need them to feel, look and simply be different. However, with the number of complaints that we've got over the months playing with the Lucky Dragons is that people just aren't happy with the Ceramics. Our poker cloths on the cash tables are quite smooth and slippery and so are the chips, making them hard to use properly on such tables.

Apart from Ceramics, what chips can you guys think of for a price similar to that of ceramics (we don't want to push the 1 dollar per chip mark, to be honest) that can work for keeping the feel of the chips a little bit different?

They're amazing and good value for money...

They're just not custom! It's kind of a requirement.

Re: Cheaper custom chips that aren't ceramic or plastic

Have you considered ASM customs?

Poker Chips OnLine - Clay Chip Price List -

Hotstamped solids are $.60 each (or $.55 each for 1000+)

Hotstamped L1 edgespots are $.70 each (or $.65 each for 1000+)
L1 edgespot chart - post #136 here: http://www.chiptalk.net/forum/pokerc...-2010-a-3.html

Inlaid solids are $.90 each (or $.85 each for 1000+)

If you are ordering a large quantity, and make your workhorse chip(s) a cheaper one, you should be able to bring the average chip price in under $.65. However shipping would be a killer.

You can have custom labels put onto RT plastics if you want/don't mind plastic chips.

are custom labels custom enough? if so, you could do pretty well with some labels from Palm Imports and any number of decent compression chips or even go with ASM blanks.

I would suggest ASM as well (inlayed solids) ... shipping to Europe is not that high (around 90$ for 600 chips so thats 0.15$ per chip)

Re: Cheaper custom chips that aren't ceramic or plastic

I guess I should have been a bit more specific:

- We really don't want hotstamped chips. We simply think they're ugly as well as hard to read at times.
- We're going to be getting about 2000 chips
- We do know about ASM, no worries, and since we do want inlays they're going to get a little bit expensive, especially since we think solids are, as well, quite ugly for our uses.

ASM therefore is a bit too expensive and Palm Imports doesn't offer chips that feel very different from the chips we have at the moment, although I personally do like the look of the NexGen Pro Series a lot.

Looks like you want good quality at a cheap price. Not sure what to tell you...

Edit: Anyone who thinks hotstamps and solid chips are ugly is a n00b
