Chips: 271 | | | What Would You Do? Here's the deal, I'm having a heck of a time deciding what to do about my custom chip set. Here's what I want feedback on:
Sets I have: - Paulson Fun Nite Tourney Set
- ~ 1000 chips
- Solid Hot Stamped
- My casino style set
- ASM Rounders Replica Roman Mold Tourney Set
- ~ 800 chips
- Inlay wtih Edge Spots
- My Fantasy chip I always wanted
- Faux Clay Cash Set
- ~ 1000 chips
- Solids
- My cheap set for rowdy cash games with the boys
I'm trying to decide whether to:
1. Get a small custom ASM Solid Inlay Cash/Tourney set for the July special & then get an Inlayed Edge Spotted custom BCC set down the road.
2. Forget about the custom ASM Solid Inlay set and just save and prepare for a custom BCC set down the road.
3. Forget both of them and just add a cash set to my Rounders Replica's.
4. Forget all of them, add to the solid T-molds I have now and get a custom hot stamp.
I know people are thinking the same thing I am...GET BOTH!!! However, I'm trying to be smart about this since I already have a couple nice sets. I've always thought a solid inlay set would be sweet, but I've really been wanting a custom inlay w/ edge spot set of BCC's lately, however the price is killing me!
I'm at a loss!!!
Please help!!! |

I'm going to wait until I get samples of the A-mold & Hourglass mold from PCO because I might want to go with the HHR mold if I don't like either of those. |

If what you really, really want is a set of custom BCC's with inlays and edge spots, is it possible to save up for them? Maybe sell some other stuff? Ask for money instead of gifts for BDs, etc., for your custom BCC chip fund?
Deferring the purchase also gives you time to consider whether these are what you really want after all -- you did use the term "lately."
If I really wanted something that I couldn't quite afford, I'd save up for it. I could buy a dozen other chip sets, but if none of them would make me as happy as custom BCC's with inlays and edge spots, I'd be wasting time and money buying the substitute sets. Eventually I'd get the BCC customs anyway.
Now that's just me, and we all think differently. But the title of this thread is "What Would You Do?" That's what I would do -- save for what I really wanted. |

That's what I would do -- save for what I really wanted. | great advice...this is also what I've been thinking. I have been selling off a bunch of chips I don't need in order to save up for a custom BCC set.
I just...have...to...resist...
I've always wanted a set of solid inlayed chips, which is why I figured this was a good chance to get some through the ASM July special. However, I don't need them and it would only take money away from my BCC fund...
Now on the flip side...I don't get to play poker all that often, and wonder if dropping the money on a set of custom BCC's would really be worth it? This is why I lean toward trying to run a GB for a more generic BCC inlay or specific set of chips down the road to share artwork fees, making them not as much of an investment but still getting a semi-custom set of BCC's.
oh no, I've gone cross-eyed! |

As far as the semi-customs go - again... what do you want? Personally, I think customs are a special thing and the whole point is getting something your own, and a generic inlay on a custom chip is somehow.... disappointing? But that's not true for everyone.
Also, just wanted to add - by the time you have some $$, BCC or ASM may have another deal. If you REALLY REALLY want solids with a custom inlay, then maybe this is your chance; but if your heart is set on the BCCs, I would keep my pennies in the jar.
