Seeing the TR King set for Hal Fowler and the commemorative Mizpah set ASM made for Bill Allison (the Mizpah's former owner) got me thinking: I wonder if people in the casino business have their own custom chip sets for home games? And if they do, what do they look like?

I bet Steve Wynn, Jack Binion, and Bobby Baldwin have something at their house for friendly get-togethers. (Only Wynn probably uses the $10,000 chips from his namesake casino...) Maybe Doyle Bruson has some customs?

What about the manufacturers & distributors? I wonder what Jim Blanchard's home set looks like? He's got to have one, right? How about the Endy family? Joe Daley?

Just a thought. It would be cool to see what the Big Guns play with.

In Brunson's book, Poker Wisdom of a Champion there is a chapter in the Home Games section called "Getting more chips than you bargained for.

Basically it tells the story of how a guy he played with back in college hosted a game with some of the cheep chips and won. After cashing everyone out he was short about $40. Bottom line is that someone slipped some of their own chips in and left. I can't remember what Doyle says exactly but he very highly suggests getting a custom set if you are serious about poker.

See as Doyle is somewhat serious about poker... I can only assume that he would take his own advice and either play with live casino chips or he has a custom set of his own.

My question is, can casino chip purchasers get custom sets as part of the deal when deciding a chip manufacture? I know the Palms poker room manager gets Paulson business cards, but I wonder where it could go from there?
