-T25's - DG Green
-T100's DG Yellow
-T500's DG Peach
-T1000's DG pink

or

(on the Blank T-Mold)

-T25's - Sherbert Green
-T100's Horizon Blue
-T500's Arc Yellow

Does PCO sell solid blank Horsehead mold chips?

Also, the DG chips will be noticably lighter.

Re: Where should i buy my clay blanks?

As JM said, get samples.

However it also depends if you want to leave them blank or alter them. If you want to leave them blank then the samples (and maybe a little oil or shuffling) will speak for themselves - whichever you like the feel, sound and looks of a stack of at least 10 chips better should be your choice.

If you want to have these hotstamped then the T-molds may have a slight edge (some breakage seen in the past of one of the ASM reds IIRC from one of the hotstamping threads).

If you want to label them in the future then the ASM may have a slight edge (horsehead has a slightly greater recess - hourglass is even better!)

Good luck with your decision - there is no bad outcome whichever way you go!

Regards,

David.

Re: Where should i buy my clay blanks?

Yes, samples are key. For breakage, I've broken ASMs during hot-stamping, but I don't recall ever breaking a t-mold. Those BCC chips are very sturdy and can consistently take a hot stamp. ASMs generally will as well, but they're more finicky.

Re: Where should i buy my clay blanks?

We have a group buy going on for BCC blanks on the mold owned by Two Face Poker going on for 1 more week. Blanks are .60/chip plus shipping. It will take about 6-8 weeks but you will have a cool mold and all bcc colors are available (if they meet the minimum of 200 per color).

http://www.chiptalk.net/forum/twofac...er-thread.html

As for which chip is better, I think for solid blanks especially if you are going to hot stamp them, I would go with BCC chips - better colors and stronger. Don't get me wrong, I've seem some great ASMs but I tend to prefer the inlay/edgespot type chips from ASM, not blanks.

edit: I just noticed this thread is a couple of months old and was bumped. Perhaps you already have your chips...what did you decide?

Re: Where should i buy my clay blanks?

Yep, I bumped while searching, but good point on the TFP blanks. I'm on the fence for these right now. They would look really good hot stamped.

I only wish I could see these in person before buying a set. I run a 3-table tourney, so I would need over 1000 chips. Hard to plunk down $600 for unseen chips.

ASMs stamp like a dream. Hourglass are best, Horseheads #2.

Completely disagree. ASMs are very picky on heat / dwell / pressure. I've seen two chips using the same settings stamp completely different, one after the other. I've even cracked some chips at one setting while others were perfectly fine. That said, I really like ASMs stamped. Very nice chips.

BCCs are like an assembly line. If you're doing them right, you can't go wrong. If I had a choice of either chip manufacturer using the same mold, BCC would be choice without question.
