Re: Where should i buy my clay blanks?

Interesting, were both chips the same color & spot combo? I could see this happening if one was a regular color and the other was DG, since DG are more brittle.

BCCs are like an assembly line. If you're doing them right, you can't go wrong. If I had a choice of either chip manufacturer using the same mold, BCC would be choice without question.

I think DG chips are the issue here. Even with the regular ones, the lighter chips seem to stamp better than the darker ones. I never seem to have that problem with the t-molds. I did MidnightRose's ASM stamping, and it was very difficult to get the chips consistent. I think we came away with 7-10% in the questionable range. They weren't bad at all...just not fantastic. I'm really picky, though, so YMMV.

I stamped mipevi's coconut club ones on t-molds and I couldn't believe how consistent they were. Every one just popped. He's got a picture of one in his thread. 90%+ looked that good.

Doh! Yep, h-molds.

Well...guess that means I'm full of shi* as those are ASM, right?

I still like stamping t-molds the best, but yeah, those h-molds turned out nice. Not a big fan of the hourglass with stamps, but they can be done.

Did you order blanks right from ASM? I really likes the H-mold, but don't like the idea of spinners.

Yes I ordered them from ASM. I didn't have any trouble with my inlayed H-molds, but because there is no recess the hotstamped chips won't stack like bricks. Until you shuffle them a while that is. I hate that part.

I definetly wouldn't go H-Molds if your gonna have them Hotstamped.

Pretty sure you can't buy blank A-molds.

I do believe EmptyPocs has a set of A-Mold blanks. Never tried to buy any personally but I do believe you can.
