I would suggest going one step beyond this: Make it a permanently "closed" thread that only a mod can post to (sort of like the "advice for n00bs" thread that Gaming Ore adds to from time to time). "Sticky" it in the Custom Chips Gallery forum. Each year's inductees, as voted in a poll, would send pics to a mod for adding, or something like that.
Whatever is decided, I think it's a great idea! Of course, we should do it retro-actively as well... have a category for each year since the beginning of ChipTalk.net. We could start with "customs made in 2005", then do "2006", then "2007"... and we have to wait a few more months for 2008...
The next question is, how many inductees per year? |

Discuss! | Only for customs? What about group buys and contests that potentially revolutionized the home game market? I mean, the Pharoahs (2005?), Samurais (2006?), and Proteges (2007, or were they 2006?) were all developed right here at ChipTalk.net. I'd say they'd get inducted for "historical achievement", sort of like a coach in a sports HoF. |

Maybe multiple categories for each type too... |

1. Photography is extremely important (and may be unfair to some like I mentioned in another thread). A good example being a CT member that took really beautiful photos of his WSOP collectibes. That guy would make dice chips look like a masterpiece (can't remember his name).
2. Members need to really dig deep to get all the beautiful chips stored in the Gallery. One of the best chips I have seen "for its time" was SpaceMonkeys Greek Theme. Those dated back to the age of 312 and still look good.
3. I hate to say this, but BCC definitely gets the advantage over ASM here since they have more inlay sizes, edge spot options, colors, and hot stamping. Hate to shear anything away from PC.com since they are incredible to all CT members.
Maybe I'm just taking this way too seriously and should just relax and enjoy it for the Pron | | | | Thread Tools | Search this Thread | | | | | Display Modes | Linear Mode |
