Chips: 69 | | | Need a good chip set title I'm hoping someone can help me out coming up with a workable title for a custom hybrid chip set. I have come up with a few ideas, but I'm just not sure of their 'chip worthiness'. Also, a designer has offered his assistance to me, and we're trying to steer toward something that includes diamonds. I have some AI skill and a ton of graphics to get creative with, but originality is definitely not one of my strengths. Here's what I've come up with so far:
#1 - There's a lot of blue-collar workers in the group. How does something like "The Tradesman's Diamond" or "Artisan's Diamond" sound?
#2 - Ya gotta love chasers. Some of the guys will pay any price just to enjoy the anticipation of the coming river card and knowing that if they hit, there's a huge pot to collect. How would something like "A Diamond on the River" or "The Rivered Diamond" sound?
I'd like to get something that's related to the group. Several of us like to host, so the game is always moving, and thusly eliminates the availability of a title that would have my name, home, etc. in it. It's all in a name, right? |

You are limiting creativity.
Besides, unless you are hosting a bunch of baseball players, diamond is anti-blue collar.
Depending on how blue the blue collar actually is,
Carhartt Club could be useful.

Chips: 69 | | | Re: Need a good chip set title poislb - thanks for the suggestions. Having some other avenues to go down in that category that adhere a little more to the 'keep it simple' philosophy are greatly appreciated.
sparky - I've thought about it for a long time - about what kind of a title would work well and encompass some trait of most of the people I play with, but haven't had much success, so I figured why not try asking some of the chip veterans. Diamonds don't have to be on it, but using diamonds wouldn't limit my creativity; it's a direction I'm perfectly happy going into. I can get creative with that idea, I'm just not all that certain if the suggestions I came up with sounded OK. I'm always open to ideas - I'll add "The Blue-Collared Diamond" to the list. |

I guess they don't "pan for diamonds" like they do (or did) for gold, huh? But that's an image that comes to mind... |

Chips: 69 | | | Re: Need a good chip set title Thanks again for your suggestions. I'm liking two at the moment: the blue diamond and diamond river.
I thought of diamond falls also but didn't mention it because I immediately recalled the recent diamond falls chip / theme (there were plaques, too) that was done for a GB. I remember reading the heading and thinking of a waterfall, but with hundreds of tiny diamonds cascading over a cliff instead of water, and at a similar perspective to the one actually done on that chip. I just wasn't sure how it would go over if I used the same name but with a different graphic design, so I tossed it. Mine probably would have ended up looking too complex for a chip, anyway. |

Lots of imagery with that too...like a King of Diamonds slumping while holding a hand as if his night has been baaaad...
