BCC hotstamp question. Edgespots specifically.

I just got off the phone with BCC but wasn't real sure what they had to offer.

I let him know that I have seen some cool edgespots that aren't offered on their website on custom hotstamps. I inquired what edgespots were available and they said the could probably do some others that were not listed. That didn't help me a whole bunch.

So what edgespots are available from BCC? Are the spots in the chip factory all available? Do the different spot patterns run more or less expensive?

Thanks,
Couga

Re: BCC hotstamp question. Edgespots specifically.

Here's a thread that outlines all their spot options and colors for customs.
http://www.chiptalk.net/forum/custom...m-options.html
There's one spot there that's listed thats not available... 714 IIRC, but it's because they have a problem with their die for it.

Re: BCC hotstamp question. Edgespots specifically.

I'm guessing that all of the same insert (spot) patterns that are available for custom inlay chips are also available for custom stamped chips, but you'll have to check with BCC to confirm availability and pricing. I did a quick search and found the following insert patters that are available for custom inlay chips:

312 (3 x ½ inch spot – 1 color)
314 (3 x ¼ inch spot – 1 color)
3D14 (3 x double ¼ inch spot – 2 colors)
3T18 (3 x triple 1/8 inch spot – 2 or 3 colors)
412 (4 x ½ inch spot – 1 color)
4A12 (4 x alternate ½ inch spot – 2 colors)
414 (4 x ¼ inch spot – 1 color)
4A14 (4 x alternate ¼ inch spot – 2 colors)
4D14 (4 x double ¼ inch spot – 2 colors)
418 (4 x 1/8 inch spot – 1 color)
4A18 (4 x alternate 1/8 inch spot – 2 colors)
4D18 (4 x double 1/8 inch spot – 2 colors)
4T18 (4 x triple 1/8 inch spot – 2 or 3 colors)
514 (5 x ¼ inch spot – 1 color)
614 (6 x ¼ inch spot – 1 color)
6A14 (6 x alternate ¼ inch spot – 2 colors)
618 (6 x 1/8 inch spot – 1 color)
6A18 (6 x alternate 1/8 inch spot – 2 colors)
714 (7 x ¼ inch spot – 1 color)
1-1 (1 x 1 inch spot – 1 color)
358 (3 x 5/8 inch spot – 1 color)
3Horseshoe (3 x Horseshoe spot – 2 colors)
3Moon (3 x Moon spot – 1 color)

Re: BCC hotstamp question. Edgespots specifically.

I'm pretty sure BCC got the 714 from TR King, and either it was broken when BCC got it, or BCC broke it, but everything I've heard and read says it is not available. You can get a good look at it in chipdesignnetwork. I think the 514-614-714 edgespot progression is super sexy, but alas, it is not to be.
