3 Years and Counting.....

Greetings! It's been awhile since I've posted, but I've always been lurking in the shadows. For the past three years, yes, it's that sickening, but I have been working on the "perfect" set. I long decided on ASM. Most of the problem has come from the inlay, though edge spot color combos have been troublesome as well. Thankfully the inlay concept and coloring is finished and ready for printing so now all that's left to do is put the logo on some chips and that's where my question comes in. As of today I am still working with old samples that I ordered and as we all know, alot has changed. Frankly one of the things that has stalled this project is the unavailability of my favorite edge spot 3U. I've given up all hope for the quarter-pie. Does anyone know if the 3U is available? Life would become simple should that combo be in production.

As all others I am excited to finally see this set outside of a mock-up. I have chosen to use a classic, retro style, tied in with the inlay which I think will be reminicent of the chips produced when ASM ruled the chip world.Once finished I'll be sure to post pics here. So any answers?

Re: 3 Years and Counting.....

The best answer anyone can give you is to call them, tell them you're from chiptalk and find out what's available to you.

It's been said a few times before, but as far as I know, 3U is not available. Welcome to the wonderful world of posting on CT!

Good luck with them, they're great to work with. I just don't know if they will do it for you. The problem with the 3U is it's very labor intensive, and ultimately not worth it for them to make.

They are cool though, so who knows. Again, good luck.

I know, I'm a total bastard - but at least I'm not rubbing it in his face. That would be mean.

The only reason I have 3U's, is I designed and sold the design for the Avalon's to Jim. And I'm a wickedly loyal customer. And Jim adopted me.

Having just received my custom ASM's, I can't say enough good stuff about the people there. The service was great and the end product was awesome. Joe

Re: 3 Years and Counting.....

Yeah I know , I'm just being hopeful. To me there are certain edge spots that just scream nostalgic (314,312,1/4's and 1/2's and of course 3U). My inlay has been designed to emulate the feel of the late 60's/Early 70's. There are currently four denominations planned ( $1, $3, $5 and $20). I'm very partial to the 3d14 and wouldn't mind using it for my $5, but than there just isn't an available spot design that's suitable for a $20. Call me silly, but the 4a14 appeals to me as a more "modern" design.
