Custom T-molds?

Has anyone made custom labels for T-molds? I've seen the hotstamps that look fantastic, but I'm wondering if anyone has had labels printed and applied the labels themselves? I have searched but found nothing... Is it not possible (b/c of the recess?) or has no one really tried? I think this is what I want to try to do...

Also, I do not often see members take the road of applying their own labels. Is there a main reason besides the fact that it is incredibly tedious and mind-numbing? Is the quality that much lower from third party sources (i.e., somewhere else besides ASM or BCC)? It seems like a good way to save on money for me considering I just love mind-numbing activities...

Thanks for any input.

Re: Custom T-molds?

The samurai dealer buttons are a good example of oversized inlay on a Tmold chip. I have interest in this thread as i love the look of the Tmold chips but am unsure if HPC allow custom chips to be made with their mold. I would love to be in on a group buy if anyone was keen on oversized labels on a tmold. I profession is a graphic designer at a newspaper so i could be helpful in that aspect. Sorry if i got a bit sidetracked from your question, Yes the T mold can have custom inlays but not from a 3rd party as the centre is not recessed much at all. Only a slight bit for a paper thin label. Referring to my Samurai Kanji chip.

Re: Custom T-molds?

I have a bunch of T-molds and can't see any way a label would work on them. There is not recess'd area for the label to sit in. Labels would most likely stick together and cause "Playability" issues on T-molds IMHO. 99% Evil tried to do labeling using the ultra thin labels from Hogwild but it didn't work well if I remeber correctly

MSPatton from Hold'em Poker Chips owns the T-Mold so the only chips you will see available on that mold are produced through him. He has not done any custom inlay chips to the best of my knowledge. The Samari's and some hot Stamped chips (and blanks) are the only ones out in the market to the best of my knowledge

Re: Custom T-molds?

Yah I was considering something along the lines of getting labels through Hogwild, and I could not find any posts/threads detailing where someone had tried... That's too bad.

Re: Custom T-molds?

There was a thread on hotstamping T-molds, maybe in the Custom Chips/Poker Chip Labeling forum? I have one that AcesandFaces gave me that has Hogwild labels, but not two to rub together. Still, I think in the discussion people were leaning towards saying it could be done, but then the first of the hotstamps showed up on Michael's site (holdempokerchips.com) and everyone's attention was diverted.

I'd contact Jason (Hogwild) and ask. At the very least, you could get some samples.

One thing you can be sure of is that Michael owns the mold, not BCC, and this will never be a mold available for average folks to make custom chips with. On a related note, the actual T-molds BCC makes for holdempokerchips seems to be a little heavier/more substantial than the Samurais. So, if you like the feel of the T-Molds, I don't think you can duplicate it simply by having customs made on another mold via BCC. But others with customs can chime in on that.

I have no idea if this is true or not, but could it be that the Samari's are made with the BCC "Cali" weight chips which are 7-8 grams per chip Vs the "Vegas" weight chips which are 9-10 grams per chip?

Re: Custom T-molds?

I've spoken with Hog Wild and he has had good success printing 2mm vinyl labels for the t-molds assuming you don't want a black label. Below is one of the threads I searched before contacting him.
