Ok...so I'm gonna get real custom chips

I have Nexgens now that are labeled...

I want to get REAL custom chips...and I need opinions....

I'm going to get probably 1000 made...haven't decided on colors yet, but I am going to keep with my original design that I have on my labels...

any suggestions as to the best, reasonably priced, true custom chips are? I really like ceramics...but those tend to be pricey...

I'm just getting back into the chip scene...so I'm starting to relearn *LOL*

any suggestions are appreciated...

Need to know your definition of REAL custom and reasonably priced. I'm assuming since Nexgens aren't custom enough for you that you want at least some customisation of edges as well as face. Such a degree of customisation is certainly possible.

The cheapest option will probably be palm imports new hybrid chips which will be on sale from November 15 (http://www.chiptalk.net/forum/palmim...-nov-15th.html) You can either get one of the pre-determined edges (44c each or 28c each with no inlay if you get that separately) or get true custom hybrids (55c each). You could also give Joe from palm a call and see what pricing he can do on sunfly ceramics - I suspect it will be similar but you'd have to ask.

From there, regular customs from MrChips or abcgiftsandawards (both forum sponsors) start from around 75c per chip with edges which don't necessarily align to the face. Custom clays will cost more than that still, unless you're happy with stock edge-spots or solids (Palm have alternatives for these) or are willing to wait and see what happens with coming custom clays (Mr Chips, probably Palm also).

So...what does custom mean to you and what sort of budget are you looking at?

Regards,

David.

Re: Ok...so I'm gonna get real custom chips

*LOL* I suppose I should have specified "real" custom chips

basically I mean no labels...the graphic actually on/in the chip...

I'd LIKE to keep it under 50 cents a chip...but I don't know that the quality I'd get would make me happy...

Re: Ok...so I'm gonna get real custom chips

Worth talking to Joe at palm to see what they can do. I'd guess you'd probably need the artwork to be ready to print if you want to spend less than 75c/chip. Can't hurt to ask what your options are and you may be able to get design help on this board if you have some ideas in mind.

I'd guess that's about the cheapest option for printing direct onto a chip. Maybe get some sunfly ceramic samples (from Palm or elsewhere, such as from a member who has some) and see what you think of the chips themselves?

Regards,

David.

LOL ya think Daffy was bad--
now- clarify ON or IN... there's a difference-- sort of--your REAL casino chip makers will have the graphic IN the chip- meaning the image is placed on the chip then the chip is pressed whilst hot- imbedding the inlay IN the chip-

Most others such as myself rely on vinyl/lamination either/or and a permanent adhesive which, in time, becomes quasi permanent- some effort will get the inlay off in time- albeit in pieces-

If the TRUE imbedded inlay is a must then BCC or ASM would be good candidates- Ceramics are certainly in the realm of your price range as is other chips out there which may not be TRUE IMBEDED inlays but none the less will be a nice product within your price range.

( life was so much simpler when all we had were DICE chips)

You really only have two options for true customs on a quality chip that meets your definition. Solid hot stamps from BCC. A custom die will cost $100 so for 1000 chips your final price will be $.60/chip. You can get solid clay chips from ASM and have them stamped by someone else who had cheaper dies costs, but by the time you ship 1000 chips to them and pay to have the chips shipped back, the price is virtually the same. Your other option is textured ceramics with non aligned edges. You have already heard from the man.

I want them IN the chips then (again, I've been away for awhile...gotta learn the lingo again *LOL*) but if those are out of my price range, then I'll have to either "settle" for something else...or save up more money...

but I DO so love ceramics...

too many decisions....not enough money *LOL*
