Question A Mold Hotstamps

Hi Everyone,

The hotstamp info on the asm site is pretty limited. Could someone fill me in on whether they do it in house, what are the stock denoms like & is there a way to get your own custom die made for one side of the A mold rather than just initials?

Also, any links to CTer threads who've had hotstamped A molds made?

Thanks in advance,
Paul

Re: A Mold Hotstamps

No custom hot stamps, just letters and/or numbers. Check the M2M section and do a search. There was a sale there of some hotstamped a-molds. They looked pretty sweet.

Re: A Mold Hotstamps

If I remember correctly, you can't buy the American mold as a blank either (used at existing casinos?) The hourglass mold can as well as the circle square.

Re: A Mold Hotstamps

Unless you go custom hot stamp. Oh, and I think you can get the horsehead as a blank as well.

As mentioned, ASM doesn't do custom hotstamps but BCC does. I think it's something like $100-$150 per design. Also, I'm fairly certain only the A-mold can be stamped. I emailed Cathy and she said Jim tried hot stamping the Hourglass mold, but it didn't work.

It's very easy to get in touch with them. Just email Cathy or any of the other folks at ASM with any questions you have about what's available and they'll let you know. Be sure to tell them you're a CT member...we get some special treatment (like free oiling, additional edgespots, etc).

Re: A Mold Hotstamps

I'm getting some hourglass chips in a few days and will test-out some hot stamping. I tried a circle square and it stamped. However, I used too much pressure and heat, so the chip material melted a bit. Not bad, but needs some tweaking.
